Guest guest
I eat ww bread etc. I especially like ww tortillas with chicken or my scrammbled eggs. KEep it as simple as you can. In the book it says its ok. So do what works for you. You will see results. Your meal plan looks like mine, but make sure to add spices and flavors or you will get bored and want something that tastes good. Guest guest
Wow , what a way to be introduced to BFL. I'm sorry the co- worker who humilated you was such a jerk. I can tell you right now you won't be sorry for buying that book. I can't offer you any advice on the eating, there are many ladies here who are much better at that than I, I just want to congratulate you for taking this step. Allot of us have been there. > Hello everyone, after having a huge argument with a co-worker who > absolutely humiliated me because of my weight, I went to the comapny > bathroom and cried for 10 minutes. Guest guest
Thankyou , going to work reminds me of being the fat teen in high school. I don't quite fit in but they keep me around because I'm good at what I do. I keep to myself mostly, and I'm usually the butt of jokes. I've grown tired of being an outcast and feeling sorry for myself. I'm sure my low self-esteem contributes to the prejudice I experience at work. I can't change others but I can change me. I pray this program works for me. > > Hello everyone, after having a huge argument with a co-worker who > > absolutely humiliated me because of my weight, I went to the > comapny > > bathroom and cried for 10 minutes. Guest guest
Dear ; I'm sorry to hear about your awful encounter. What a real jerk! I'm glad you decided to check out BFL. For a real motivator, I personally would use that person's nasty remark as my fuel to succeed. You know, it really takes a shallow individual to put someone else down whatever their weight/size is. But keep your chin up, Girl! Because in 12 weeks, you're the one that's going to be looking better and feeling better. Just remember, it takes a lot of sweat and a lot of tears to get to your ideal goal. But whatever you do, never give up! Guest guest
It's hard but I'm trying. The shame and embarassment I feel becomes unbearable sometimes. I'm socially awkard and don't communicate the way I want to because I feel inferior at times due to my weight and people take advantage of that. I plan to work on my self-esteem and try to think more positive. Losing weight won't change who I am on the inside but it will help me to become stronger. It's so hard being there 8 hours a day, but I can't resign, I need money to live day to day, and if I change jobs I'll still be an overweight woman with low self-esteem. At least I'm used to the jerks where I'm working now. Maybe I'll change jobs after losing my weight.- -- In , " <mbd77506@y...> " <mbd77506@y...> wrote: > Dear ; > > I'm sorry to hear about your awful encounter. What a real jerk! Guest guest
Thank you for the hug Olivia, boy did I need it. I plan to do everything perfectly. With me it's not just about losing weight it's about saving my life. I can't continue going to a job I hate and coming home to an empty house where the only one there to greet me is my cat. It's lonely being alone, and feeling powerless is so frightening. > > Hello everyone, after having a huge argument with a co-worker who > > absolutely humiliated me because of my weight, I went to the > comapny > > bathroom and cried for 10 minutes. Guest guest
, It often takes some humiliating moment like yours for us to realize that we *really want* to do something about our weight and fitness... that day will fuel you for your next 12 weeks... and then some. Your foods look great. The BFL program is great! You will see significant changes after 12 weeks and you will not beleive that *you* did all that! Trust me on that one. Follow the book to a T and you will come out a winner. Debbie

Guest guest
I really think the incident at work is just what I needed to set fire underneath me. To be honest it really wasn't what he said that hurt the most, but rather the look on the face of everyone as I waddled past them rushing to the bathroom. If you've never experienced what it feels like when others look at you with pity and disgust it's impossible to describe. I vow to never feel that way by this time next year. > , It often takes some humiliating moment like yours for us to > realize that we *really want* to do something about our weight and > fitness... that day will fuel you for your next 12 weeks... and then > some. > > Your foods look great. Guest guest
Soon enough you'll be the hottie at work, then with all the men breaking their necks to talk to you, you won't give him the time of day. I went through a situation exactly like this. I used to be the chubby girl that no one would pay attention to. I can't stress enough how much better you are going to feel , you've done the hardest part, that's deciding to even do it. You can do it, if I can, anyone can!!! This list is so amazing for inspiration. > He's the hottie at work and all the women break their neck to talk > with him, so convincing him he's a jerk would probably take years. > But you're right, he truly is a jackass. Guest guest
, Not to dredge up any painful memories, but what exactly did the a@@hole at work say to you? And didn't anyone stand up for you? I can't even fathom standing by while someone was insulted. I am so sorry that happened. The best thing you can do is turn the incident into fuel for your BFL fire. You WILL make this work for you, and you WILL look hot. Progress might be slow, but don't get disouraged. You might mess up now and then again, but don't give up. You've already taken the important first step of making the decision to change. You'll never fail until you quit trying! hugs, Dani
Guest guest
Hey - Welcome to the group! My jaw is still hanging after reading your post. Well, I'm glad that you used that situation to make a lifestyle change. It sounds like you have got ALOT of determination and you really have the drive to suceed! Isn't that book so inspiring? Well, mines falling apart now becasue I carry it around with me all the time and am constantly reading it, half the pages are falling out!!! LOL But I do feel pity for people like that who are so stupidly insecure about themselves that they feel the need to humiliate others. As if your arguement with him was concerning weight in the 1st place and saying what he said to you made him right and made everything right! Errrrrggghhhh WEll, soon enough the day will come when he won't have that to fall back on and going to have to admit that he was wrong and then YOU can humilate him. Now at least you have your drive when you feel like giving up; that you are letting him and everyone else who has ever made you feel like crap, win. I really am proud of you for wanting to do this, really. I wish you all the luck in the world and the more self esteem you have and love the way you look, reflects everything about yourself. I used to weigh 230 lbs 3 yrs ago, and I'm at 145 now. I used to always be afraid to say what I felt and speak out for the simple fact that I was scared of people coming back with the fat remarks and just LOOKING at me. But now, heh heh heh, I say EVERYTHING that I feel as LOUD as I want to, and there isn't anything people can say except the fact that I am a B***h. LOL And that's fine with me. You can do this and you will! **hugs** ~kimmah! Newbie with questions(tired of being ashamed) Hello everyone, after having a huge argument with a co-worker who absolutely humiliated me because of my weight, I went to the comapny bathroom and cried for 10 minutes. While in the stall someone slid the name of Bill's book to me on the back of an envelope with a smiley face drawn beside the title. I didn't even open the door to see who it was. I purchased the book during lunch, read the first chapter, asked my supervisor for the rest of the day off, and read the book in less than 2 hours when I got home. I visited the bodyforlife website and found out about the many free online groups. I go shopping for everything tomorrow and plan to start Sunday. I'd like to know if the following example of one days worth of meals is acceptable 7 am 1 cup oatmeal 4 egg whites 10am 1/2 chicken breast 1 cup green beans 1pm 3/4 cup cottage cheese one apple 4pm 1/2 chicken breast 1 cup broccoli 7pm 1 cup tuna one slice whole wheat bread 10pm 1/2 cup wheat pasta 3/4 cup cottage cheese 1 gallon water and one multivitamin I've decided I can't live this way any longer, I must change to keep my sanity and to enjoy life. -
Guest guest
That's for sure, I won't give them the time of day, or even look their way. Now if I can only imagine myself slim. I've never been smaller than a size 18 and don't have a clue what I would look like. > > He's the hottie at work and all the women break their neck to talk > > with him, so convincing him he's a jerk would probably take years. > > But you're right, he truly is a jackass. Guest guest
I work in a mid size department and we're dividied into smaller departments. I rarely socialize with others with the exception of hello and good bye so no one really knows me to the point where they laugh or make small talk with me. So when I walk into a room everyone kind of overlooks me or gives me a weird type of look as if I'm an alien or someone in need of pity. It's not that I don't want to socialize, but to avoid making myself look like an idiot I keep to myself. Anyway, I was waiting to make copies and I was next in line, and Darryle jumped in front of me and started making a LOT of copies. I managed to chirp out a comment(which is unusual for me), and he said very loudly " what's that big girl? Speak up! " . When i turned to leave the copy room which is directly across from the break room that was packed at this time, he started laughing and making noises as if something heavy was walking down the hall. I turned around and told him what he did wasn't nice and that he was an idiot, that's when he gave me this really condescending look that went right through me, and he said in a patronizing tone, awe I'm just playing with ya " big girl " . At that point I became really emotional and I said something in a loud shaky voice, but can't remember because I was kind of spaced out with all the eyes staring at me, and when I turned to walk out the break room he said to others, " she should be happy anyone in pants would even speak to her....did you see that gut....someone hasn't been laid in awhile?(I assume he thought I couldn't hear him, or maybe he meant for me to hear him) Others started laughing and a few people said, leave her alone ect, but they didn't say it with sincerity, it was kind of in a comical tone. The break room is probably 15 feet from the womens bathroom, but it felt like miles as I imagined everyone watching the big girl waddle with rubbing thighs, and bouncing booty down the hall. > , > > Not to dredge up any painful memories, but what exactly did the > a@@hole at work say to you? Guest guest
I thought about reporting him, but I don't think I'll get anyone to speak up for me, and he said the getting laid comment after I had left the copy room, so it would be his word against mine. I'm more angry with myself than anyone else because I have such a problem speaking up for myself and being seen. I've put up with all these years of being unhappy on the job, I guess I can make it through another year until I reach my goal on bfl. :)In , solmaya9@a... wrote: > Oh my God, what a total a$$hole! Guest guest
People can be so cruel, and I've never understood why. I'd never feel good knowing that I made someone cry or that I made someone ashamed. I plan to do what you're doing Theresa. It won't be easy for me because I've developed a habit of running and hiding when things get tough, but I'm going to try my very best. I'd never commit suicide, but I just can't see myself living this way anymore. It's like I'm dead but still walking around going through the motions. Thanks for sharing with me Theresa, it helps to know I'm not alone. > > A few weeks ago I had the same problem ..I had come back from break and > wrote down what I had eaten in my journal.A co -worker saw what I was > doing and actuall laughed in my face.I was terribly hurt and > ashamed..BUt you can turn this around..People are naturally competative > and my co-worker become my challenger..Everytime that I just wouldn't > want to ht the treadmill I could see her laughing at me.I then found the > energy to run faster an farther , lift heaver and be stronger.. btw ..I > have bee off from work for about two weeks and my body did some real > changing during that time so I have something to show for my hard > work...You can do this in spite of your advisary or maybe because > of..TERESA.. Guest guest
Well, after I picked my jaw up off of the floor from reading your experience at work (!), congratulations, . As a woman who's experimented with many plans, Body For Life is the most healthful, most dramatic and most likely to embarrass the hell out of your co-worker by your physical changes. Welcome! Lara Newbie with questions(tired of being ashamed) Hello everyone, after having a huge argument with a co-worker who absolutely humiliated me because of my weight, I went to the comapny bathroom and cried for 10 minutes. -
Guest guest
I haven't logged on all weekend, so I'm jumping on the tale end of this but OMG!!! What kind of place do you work in that someone could get away with doing something like that? Well, as everyone else has already said, you can just use his negativity as fuel to better yourself. This time next year you'll be so much happier and healther, and who knows, maybe your new look and attitude will give to confidence to look for a new job where the environment isn't conducive to such crap. Good luck. Kate :} > > , > > > > Not to dredge up any painful memories, but what exactly did the > > a@@hole at work say to you? And didn't anyone stand up for you? Guest guest
I think Darryle needs to see what damage a group of " big girls " could do when we open up a can of whoopass on him!!!!
