Guest guest
I just checked the stats on the wheat pasta and brown rice I eat, and 2 oz. of dry pasta has 230 calories, 48 carbs, and 8 grams of protein, and 3/4 cup of rice has 170 calories, 32 carbs, and 3 protein. The brand I purchase is not enriched, they're whole wheat. These numbers seemed pretty high to me, is this what everyone else comes up with? If there is a brand with lower numbers I'd be interested in hearing about them. Thanks Lyn
Guest guest
-I try to limit pasta and bread, getting most of my carb counts from oatmeal, dairy products, beans, and occasional fruit. I do occasionally eat whole wheat pasta because I do really like it, but then I try to keep the portion size down and use if to complement a dish, but not be a big part of the dish. I concentrate on proteins and down play carbs. I do eat bread occasionally also, but use the diet bread which has a lot of fiber that doesn't digest so it doesn't really count much as a carb. I concentrate on fiber in my choices of carbs and veggies. I feel bloated when I have a higher carb day. I do eat carbs on my free day.. I eat whatever I want that day and try not to get too carried away.
