I don't think so! I just hate it when people sell products that are

potentially dangerous, such as candles and body products and are so ignorant.

Kbear, Wow, sounds to me she needs to jump into this millenium. And

revisit the FDA site for regulations. I wonder if itrs anyoen we know.

How about this. At the show E and I did this weekend everything is

suppose to be handmade by the artist/crafter. So how does someone selling

soap wirh their label on it and on the back it says made by Sunfeather, how

does that count as handmade by the artist/crafter. E, I put that

As I understand it, it needs the weight listed, but not the ingredients, as

I personally agree with you! The bars definately have to have the

oz. and ingredients listed as well.

Though I have seen (exsample: Wrigglies Gum sold in 10pks.) the

single packages have on it see www.___.com for ingredients and

nutrients. Mind you I assume there allowed to do this because

packaging is so small.

just my opinion.

I agree with you Shaye; this above does not count as Homemade and

crafted by artist appearing at show Unless it was Sandy Mane

herself!!! I my self would have reported her as well for it's not

fair to every other seller there; whom could have made money off

someone elses products.

This in no way make you mean, just forth right, and trying to keep

things on an even keel for everyone; as far as being able to make

money.

Hi Hon,

Not a meany at all, I put it on my evaluation sheet too. I looked up

that guys name and booth space and guess who showed up in my booth

checking things out when I stepped out to the ladies room! Saw his

name tag with booth no. when he took off as soon as I returned! Kind

of rude, never even said hello or introduced himself.

I don't believe soap needs the weight and ingredients listed. Am I wrong? I

list all the goodies on whipped shea and lip balms, etc..and I have the

weight on my fo's with all the appropriate disclaimers.

On another note - I bought a candle at a show a few weeks ago and when I

lit it I discovered the wick was the old lead type. Needless to say I

tossed that one real quick.

What show did you do and how about and Shaye? I did a show in

Fairport Saturday but did not see any soapers I knew.

Ever hear this take on FDA regs???

Hmmm,

For some reason I never got the first email regarding what you're all

talking about. It will probably show up in a few months, heh? Shaye,

as far as selling another company's soap at a craft fair - I would

DEFINITELY call or email Gail or someone at Sunfeather. I can't imagine

that they know about this. And what a DOPE for not even removing the

label!!

Well, I finally had to do it. I put my cockerspaniel to sleep and

buried her Friday. I couldn't do it myself so my SIL was loving enough

to do it for me. He said it was very humane, though. They gave her a

shot that sedated her first and she fell asleep within 30 seconds and

then they gave her the shot that stopped her heart. What a tough week I

had last week.

I had to go to WalMart to buy one of those Rubbermaid storage containers

to bury her in. I hope nobody saw me standing in the aisle crying when I

was trying to figure out what size I needed. They would have thought I

was nuts.

It's funny but I swear that I hear her feet walking around on my

hardwood floors. Or I look out the kitchen window expecting to see her

taking her stroll around the pool. I guess it's going to take some time

to get over it since I had her for 17 years. At least she's buried up

at my girlfriend's land along with a lot of her dogs and I can go talk

to her. She acutally has her own pet cemetary in her back yard with

markers and all. So she's going to order me a cockerspaniel marker with

Heidi's name and years on it. Well, enough about that or the tears will

start flowing again.

Is everybody getting busy with Christmas orders? I've been busy but

none of it is for Xmas right now. I've been working with two girls

regarding their wedding showers in February and (believe it or not) the

other is in the summer. Boy, is that girl ever organized!! Plus I've

had a lot of other orders to do. Then my daughter who works at a hair

salon said her boss is adding on to the building she's in to add

tanning, nails, hand and foot massages, etc. My daughter is going to be

doing a lot of that and her boss wanted to know if I was interested in

them using my lotion for the hand and foot massages and then offering

the lotion for sale right there. I don't know when that's transpiring

(hopefully AFTER Christmas) but they've already started the renovations

so it probably won't be too far off.

Well, I'd better go get some work done. Oh, one good thing did happen

last week. I bought a new car (well, used car). It's a beautiful 2002

Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I've always wanted one so I took the

plunge.

Hope everyone has a good week. And if anyone can respond to the email I

posted a few hours ago about using Jojoba Oil and f/o as a perfume oil,

I'd appreciate it greatly.

Thanks

The one I did was at Minerva Deland. There was this guy in my both looking

at my soaps very closely but not saying anything to me. I was with a

customer when he first came in and so I did not get to greet him. I was

ready to greet him but then noticed he had a name tag on so figured it was

another vendor. There was a glare on his nametag so I could not see his

company name or product. I got the impression he might have been another

soaper but like I said he did not talk to me at all. When I am doing a show

Im not Gabby, but we had this discussion a little while back which is the

reason I called mine, Waterless Hand cleaner. I sold a few bottles of it

and the people who paid attention to it totaly got that it was a hand

sanitizer. BTW Gabby, it got rave reviews from those people comparing it

to Purell. Thanks for teaching this to us! Also I was thinking this

might even be a good facial moisturizer for people like me who have oily

skin, that is getting older (darnit) and breaks out from typical facial

moisturizers.

Shaye,

Excellent name! How much do you charge for this if you don't mind my

asking?

I did a small show at the local Theatre group yesterday. Did only about

half of last year's sales. Did get a new customer for lotion bars and

whipped shea. The samples really do well as salespersons. Only three more

shows until the end of the year. Getting tired............

Jeanine. I charged $3 for 3 oz. I know the price is very low but I

justified it becaue its so cheep to make and I wanted to see what kind of

intereste there would be. I may creep up the price a tad. Good luck with

your remaining shows! I get tired just thinking of all you do in a day.

NO. Soap itself doe not have to be labeled at all in order to sell.

It is basically the ONLY thing that does not need to be properly

labeled. Unless of course it is a M & P soap. which I suppose is

because it is made with detergents, which have more of a chance on

giving someone a reaction then say a bar of CP or HP.

Or if is has special additives like in the case of a shaving soap

where it might contain clay or any other specialties.

However many people DO label soap for the safty of the consumer. Also

When they get home and take that label off and give it a try and find

out it is the greatest thing on earth they know what scent it was and

where they got it from. But for the most part it does not HAVE to be

labeled.
