spiro 4 months ago.I also take saw pamento to block any extra

testosterone that may come up as well. I have often wondered if my

over problem norepinephrine causes hair loss? I have increased my

synthroid 2 weeks ago that is also a factor with my hair falling out

not taking enough thyroxine for fear of a worsening of symptoms of PA

and norep. So far I am not having any real problems yet, the ACEi has

calmed every thing down.I am still waiting for dr. Schambelan's

office to call. It has been almost 2 months.Their not very nice when

I call to ask. I do have a MRI happening for next week in hopes of a

glowing pheo on film will take me that much closer to getting

better. ita

I do notice my hair has been growing faster since being on Spiro - my

nails are growing faster as well. Not only have I noticed the

increased growth in my hair, but my hair dresser has also noticed it.

Do you know if Spiro raises or lowers testosterone? I'm confused on

this.

I really do hope you get much more closer to getting better :-)

It blocks the test receptor weakly.

You need to learn to use PUB MED. just type in spironolactone and testosterone and see what comes up. You can read the abstracts of each article to see which ones you want to download.

Hi

Spiro blocks testosterone receptors so we get less testosterone into our cells

which is why our hair is better now. As the losing hair part is from

testosterone like men have. I know it dosent make much sense either in a way

that if our hair is falling out on our head but apearing on our face, its odd an

surely proves men are from mars with a hormone like that. LOL There is a ceam

(vanaque) to put on the face it stops hair growth as long as you use it

everyday. My internal medicine Dr. says it is good stuff. My nails were growing

faster before the spiro but still grow quick. How long have you been on spiro?

for me its been 4 months and I started benazepil in Oct for my adrenalin excess

and seem to have it under conroll for now. MY blood pressure sitting is 106/70

with a 65 pluse.

Sprio does not raise or lower the testosterone but keeps it from getting to us

by blocking receptors. I would think testosterone levels would stay much the

same as we cannot stop them but we can block them. Hope this helps.

I've been on Spiro for close to 7 months now. You know, I think this

hair loss thing maybe just in my head! LOL! I went through TE around

this time last year and lost A LOT of hair - this lasted for about 6

months. Right now I'm not losing close to what I was losing when I went

through TE. I think the hair I notice I'm losing right now just might

be normal shedding and maybe it's making me panic. I guess you never

notice the shedding until you go through a bout of TE because I never

paid attention to it before! Sheesh!

Wow! I wish my bp were that low! That is wonderful!

Maybe you are panicing bout your hair. I did the same thing but when I looked

closer I have more hair again in the front and sides. Funny how hair can play

tricks on ya. What is TE?

What I think also helped my hair is going on the ACE inhibitor for the

norepinephrine it must add to hair lose just from feeling stressed all the time.

So far I am real sensitive to the drugs for hbp. I am on 3 different types

Sprio,

a beta blocker, and a ACE inhibitor. Drugs from Dr. Grims files seem to work

better than any other ones I am so glad I found those pages. ita
