Guest guest
Hi- I wanted to say that I'm happy to have found this site. It's very inspiring, and all the ladies here seem to be pretty active in their posts. I really enjoy reading the messages. This is my second challange. I did my first challange in '00 and made it to about week 8-9, then I just sort of did it on and off. The good part is that I've not gained any weight back. In fact, my body is pretty much as it was back then....body fat %, weight ,clothes size...etc. I maintain a relatively decent diet, go to the gym regularly, but it's only been enough to keep my at a steady weight. I feel healthy, but not " fit " . I hate my size still, and I've decided to do the BFL challange again. I'm ready to start next week " officially " , but I've gotten a head start on the habits for the past few weeks so that it doesn't feel like a shock. I was wondering if anyone here is about the same size as I am that we can compare results throughout the challange? I am 5'2 " , weigh 165, 24% BF. My goal is to loose fat mostly, but an overall acheive a " fit " look. I know that even though I'm short, I have a high lean body mass. Someone in a post mentioned that having a high lean body mass at that height made them " freakish " or something like that. I don't want to look bulky. I'm pretty lean from my legs and arms already. Does anyone with experience advise any necessary " tweaks " in the program in order to avoid any bulk up or do you just recommend to follow the programs and let the results show? I hate the fact that there are such myths around the whole women and weightlifting. But I do admit, that I'm afraid of that " bulk " . The supplements that I plan to use are BetaGen, CLA, BetaleanHP, and Myoplex shakes. Well if you took the time to read my rambling post, I really appreciated it, and I look forward to any replies. Guest guest
Maya- I am close to your size. I am 5'3 " and 156. I don't know my body fat % for sure yet, but am sure it is higher than 24%. I need to get some calipers. I started the challenge in 2001, a few months after my second child was born. I saw good results, but then became pregnant unexpectedly and did not finish. Needless to say, I have more to lose now than I did then by about 9 pounds or so. Anyway, I began this challenge on 12/27. So far I have only used Myoplex Light shakes as a supplement, but may begin using others soon. ( do use some protein powder to make some of my own bars from recipes that have been posted). GOOD LUCK! Guest guest
Welcome to the group Maya! My experience has been so far with this program is to just to do it by the book. I've been on BFL for 6 weeks now, and I can start to see definition and was thinking, AGH! I'm bulking up! But when i measured, I had lost inches!! Alot of people have done this program and aren't bulky at all. I know that there are ways to look that way, but I seriously doubt that BFL will do it alone. Good luck on your challenge!!! ~kim Same Body Size? Hi- I wanted to say that I'm happy to have found this site. It's very inspiring, and all the ladies here seem to be pretty active in their posts.
