Guest guest
I have lost 40 pounds since the end of June when I started following BFL. I can only speak for my own results, and I am sure others here have had different experiences, but I have found that the carbs that provided me with the best results have been low glycemic, complex carbs. I eat mainly oatmeal (1/2 cup), Go Lean cereal (3/4 cup), puffed Kashi cereal (1 cup), brown rice (1/2 cup cooked), sweet potatoes (1 small) and brown rice cakes (2-3) as my carbs. I have been avoiding fcruit for the most part, but if I want some, I stick to an apple or some berries (and usually only once a day at most). I have found that these low glycemic types of carbs are very filling, provide me with all the energy I need, and do not spike my blood sugar levels or lead to cravings of sweets. Once again, this is my experience and I know that plenty of people have had great success eating a lot of fruit and yogurt and whole wheat bread products. Since you want to lose 50 pounds, I'd really suggest making very good choices in terms of your carb consumption and seeing how it works for you. Most important, be sure to limit your portion size. Good luck! Sherri > I was hoping that someone out there that is on the BFL program could > help me come up with different types of Carbs that I can mix with my > serving of protein to create a meal. Guest guest
Hi there, I find that the less processed carbs are better for me. I don't worry too much about the fruit but some people limit it. Make sure you are eating enough fiber it is very important especially in the form of vegetables. As for grains, I stick to whole grains mostly. Here are my list of favorites: Natural Ovens Stay Trim Whole grain bread (it is great toasted and with an ommelette in the morning)Only has 14 grams of carbs, 5g fiber Irish steel cut oats- very good with some berries and almonds, just add protein to this meal A nice fruit salad is a nice carb addition to breakfast or with cottage cheese Wasa crackers are good with tuna Raos Marinera sauce is great with chicken & zuchinni & some fat free ricotta. It does not have any added sugar, all natural. I don't like whole wheat pasta so I save the pasta for my free day so I can really enjoy it and even then it is once in a while it makes me too sleepy after. Hope this helps. > I was hoping that someone out there that is on the BFL program could > help me come up with different types of Carbs that I can mix with my > serving of protein to create a meal.
