Guest guest
Last week my abdomen started to swell - now it is huge, looks like I am pregnant with twins and at least 8 months gone This all happened within the space of about 4 hours. And the swelling hasn't really gone down much. It isn't as hard as it was but I am still massive. Oh, and my weigh increased by 16 pounds from two weeks ago. I've seen my family doctor who poked, proded and probed but didn't seem any the wiser. I have bruised where he touched me and also where the BP cuff was. The doctor has asked for an urgent appointment at the hospital. BP is high as well. I'm a bit sore from the examination and also have muscle ache from the back strain. I'm also very tired and lack energy, was very beathless just walking up stairs today. Also quite embrassed to go out due to the stares and comments. Pity as it is a local holiday here today and my friend was going to take me out for the day but i can't face it. (new way to take BP by the specialist nurse - lie the patient down and measure once from the left arm) I'm female, not menopausal yet, 47, taking no medication, last BP reading 142/98 supine from left arm. Bladder and bowels fine. I also have SJS and Coeliac Disease. Left adrenal gland removed October 2002. Ovarian tumour removed 1977. Any ideas?
