Guest guest
I don't know if maybe some of you guys haven't been, but it was our first time. Amber won two silver medals and stole our hearts. Amber, 5yrs, played the ball toss and ran the 25yrd dash. We marched in the parade with everyone from class. Amber took it upon herself to shake hands and kiss a young woman(with DS) who was holding up a banner before hugging and kissing all six gentlemen in wheelchairs behind her one-by-one. I was so proud! I couldn't beleive all the vollunteers including the 40some-odd marines who marched the Olympic torch 35 miles that morning and joined us in the parade. My mother and boyfriend were there with us as well as Amber's best friend Darrel and his mom . The two of them walked across the field hand-in-hand in their T-shirts. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Happy Mother's Day to everyone! With love, Amber & family
Guest guest
Oh.. isn't it so much fun to see our kids compete and have fun. That opening parade is always emotional for me. Each year I take all the pics from the school and make a slide show using the song that was used in the opening ceremonies. I end it with the athletes names scrolling up. The kids love it and the school makes them all a copy of the CD.
