Guest guest
I went last Thurs to my church women's group social dinner meeting. Because I had eaten, I offered to hold this darling 3 wk old little girl. Her Mom could then go eat. When she returned and we began talking I noted her coughing once in a while. She said, Oh, I don't have a cold or allergy, I have CANCER. She turned and I could see the huge tumor on the right side of her neck. We began talking more and she told me she has Hodgkind lymphoma and first had it treated about six years ago, but it returned and shortly after she discovered the new recurrence, she found she was pregnant with her second child (she also has a two year old boy). They postponed treatment until last Friday. She has a Vita Mix! And makes green smoothies for her little boy already. I am guessing that during treatment she may well need to change her nutrition some more (she already had due to difficulty swallowing. I told her about this group, but she has a lot on her mind. So, I thought I would get in contact with her, maybe take her something (maybe kale chips as she asked about making them for her son) and the email address for this list. Here is my question. I know many of you have experience on many challenges. Not only does she face this challenge, but her little boy must be gluten free and has many food allergies as well. Any ideas on new things I might share with her when I go see her later in the week? Thanks and I know if she makes it to the group, she will be welcomed with open arms, because I know this group well. Velda
