It's not pleasant, but it is good to know that it decreases over time! I have heard of no research that shows negative effects from wearing a helmet or band. There is a great deal of research out there that says that untreated plagio can lead to other problems such as TMJ, vision problems, speech and language delays, etc. My neuro was a big believer that plagio could lead to compression on certain areas of the brain which in turn led to the problems listed above. He and the ortho I used are currently assembling research on this line of thought. (They are part of a University Hospital) I think you have made the right choice and I doubt that you will ever be sorry that you did it! Best wishes to you and your son - keep us posted on progress!!
