Guest guest
This does suck. I've read of people using something on the Mac to locate their lost MacBooks. I think it might have been MobileMe? Guest guest
Sadly, she had not taken advantage of the software download that would track it. She had left the computer with a cashier at her show at WF, and the cashier told a stock guy to track her down-he walked right out to the parking lot and asked some lady if the computer was hers, and the lady said it was-marched off with it pretty as you please. I hope the store can be held accountable-quite literally, they gave it away! Horrible. That sucks. Guest guest
Hopefully, WF will make good on it in some way. My son recently bought a Macbook Pro and they are not cheap. I just sent him the link for the Lojack. Better safe than sorry! Fran In a message dated 7/13/2011 1:37:48 A.M. Guest guest
She didn't leave it with the cashier for safekeeping. She put it down while she was paying for something. The show is/was actually at Costco, but she was shopping at Whole Foods, and the whole incident sucks big time. Some people are so dishonest. WF should be held accountable, at least the assistant who literally gave it away should be. From what I understand, she went right back to the cashier, but by then, they'd already run after her and misidentified her. Barb T. Guest guest
Oh that just makes me so sick at my stomach. I feel so bad for Lee Ann. I also feel bad for the guy that gave her computer to the wrong person - that poor guy is going to feel rotten for some time to come.As for the bitch who took Lee Ann's computer (please pardon my French, but I just can't think of anything else to call her), karma has a way of working things out...FrannyOn Jul 13, 2011, at 11:22 AM, Barbara wrote: She didn't leave it with the cashier for safekeeping. Guest guest
She needs to contact Apple and tell them what happened. A machine brought in for service is immediately scanned to confirm ownership; I think they'd confiscate a machine that's registered to the actual owner. -----Original Message----- From: Barbara <crystll222@...> She didn't leave it with the cashier for safekeeping. Guest guest
Yes, but she needs to let Apple know before this woman calls them. They're not terrible fussy about taking a transfer of ownership over the phone (I know this because I bought one of my PowerBooks used some time back) but if she calls with a heads-up they'd be on the alert. -----Original Message----- From: Old and Forgotten <busresponsible@...> Now after she does that we all need to pray that it will be taken in for service. -------Original Message------- From: She needs to contact Apple and tell them what happened.
