Guest guest
, it's nice to know that someone has come off their meds. Can you explain insulin resistant. I thought if diabetes would be reversed, there wouldn't be a problem with insulin. I'm looking forward to understanding more about htis. (After I have given some explanations) Remember I am supposed to use the food combining rules and also have to watch my blood sugar (another issue thrown into the mix) It seems like a lot, but when you try putting many of these in a recipe they do not work. I have tried eating fruit or bread (I tried a rice bread) and whenever I eat them my blood sugar goes up. If I eat protein and a salad it stays good. Even though it says I can have things like shrimp, etc, he has suggested I do not us them since they are not a clean fish. So right now I am limited to chicken and turkey and fish. Most of the recipes I could find had either onion, garlic, or squash in them. I understand I could eat a potato by itself...but without sour cream it does not seem appealing. I did enjoy yellow beans, squashes, onion, cucumber but they are not on the list. I never cared a lot for cauliflower (exception occasionally covered in cheese) broccoli, lima beans but if I could find recipes they taste good in, would be willing to try introducing them. I can have fish...but in the past fish has been fish and chips. So this will also be a new challenge. I can have almond, apricot, avocado, banana, barley, beet, black olive, blueberry, broccoli, buckwheat cabbage, cane sugar, carrot, cauliflower, celery, chicken, chocolate, clam, cod, corn, crab, cranberry, grapefruit (not allowed) halibut, honey, kidney bean, lemon, lentil, lettuce, lima bean, lobster, oat, orange roughy, oyster, papya, pea, peach, peanut, pear, pecan, potato raspberry, red snapper, rice, salmon, sardine, sesame seed, shimp, sole, soybean, spinach, strawberry, sunflower, tomato, trout, tuna, turkey, walnut Kathleen ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Insulin resistance is what they used to call pre-diabetic. That's when your sugar runs a little higher than normal once in a while and if you don't change your eating and exercise habits you will get full-fledged diabetes. Insulin resistant means your body produces the insulin but your cells don't accept the insulin your body is producing so your sugar goes too high. In my case right now and others like me, the cells that accept the insulin your body makes , which are called, insulin receptors, some of them have awoken , are repaired so, your body can use some of the insulin it makes its-self. I'm trying to explain this and hope I do explain ok.lol My diabetes is reversed back to the pre-diabetic or insulin resistant stage. So, I am working on no longer being there but normal as well. I'm thinking my next A1C may say I'm not pre diabetic as well but, I can't be sure without a test. I just know , that my sugar levels go normal without any assistance from me i.e. Exercise, etc , and they do that a lot now. Sometimes though I still have a slight problem and I have to take a walk to get it down. That's why it will take a doctor to tell me.lol It's possible I might still have a few insulin receptor cells in my body that are asleep yet.lol -- ..answer to your question , it's nice to know that someone has come off their meds.
