Guest guest
Dear Dennis, In my opinion, he has got it reversed. Lack of oxygen to the cell results in production of carbon monoxide, which is acidifying. Further inhibition of respiration will force the cell to become completely anerobic, and produce lactic acid. These are the basic causes of acidity. BASIC CELLULAR FUNCTION Oxidation by Aerobic Respiration C6H12O6 + 6O2 = 6CO2 + 6 H2O + ATP glucose + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water + 2870 kjoules Impaired Respiration C6H12O6 + 5 O2 = 4CO2 + 6 H2O + 2CO + ATP glucose + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water + carbon monoxide + 2500 kjoules Fermentation by Anerobic Respiration C6H12O6 = 2C3H5O3 + 2H+ glucose = lactate + hydrogen ions (acid) + 150 kjoules ferments Oxygen is the most important nutrient, although it is not considerd as such by most people. The body requires about 800 liters of oxygen per day. If you want to prove which is the most important nutrient, see how long you can go without them : - fasting from food can be done for 40 days; - you can live without water for a week or so, but - cut off oxygen and you die in a few minutes. It is true that cancer thrives in an acidic environment. Its growth is due to being in acidity, which its own (oxygen starved) anerobic functioning creates. The stimulus for this growth is the secretion of enzyme growth factors (EGF) by the T-cells and macrophages in the presence of acidity. Any cell that is in the area and fermenting its sugar due to having been switched to the backup anerobic system by a lack of oxygen, can be stimulated by EGF into replicating wildly. Reduction in the cell acid production is the key, and the way to do it is with suplying of oxygen to the cell, plus ensuring that all other factors are there to allow the cell to take the oxygen in (calcium, B vitamins, etc.). Guest guest
Dennis, This makes a lot of sense to me. I have heard this same train of thought expressed in several other health modalities. For example, in raw foods dieting, the idea is to eat as much alkaline food as possible, minimizing the amount of acid forming food, so as to turn your body as alkaline as possible. Additionally, whenever preparing for an extended urine fast, it is strongly suggested to test your urine with ph testers until it is alkaline, then begin the fast. This is so your body will stay alkaline during the fast as you recycle your alkaline urine. I have found that the truth is usually very simple, and it will present itself in a number of ways, but not always obviously. By the way, how do you find or prepare alkaline water? I had tried alkalinizing my body in the past for over acidity without much effect. But, whether I hyperoxygenated my body with drops or Homozon it corrected both. And, when I switched to nootropic medicines that allow the brain cells to operate normally on less oxygen, it also corrected the situation. So, my personal experience agrees with Saul: it is the constant state of low O2 that creates the acidity. jim -- jim@... http://www.entrance.to/madscience http://www.entrance.to/poetry The biggest difference between genius & stupidity is that genius has its limits. -- anony amicus certus in re incerta

Guest guest
You prepare alkaline water two ways: 1 Buy an alkaline water machine. 2 Purchase some sodium and potassium hydroxide. Mix 75% potassium hydroxide to 25% sodium hydroxide. Dilute the mixture 10/1 with distilled water and add a few drops to drinking water to raise the pH to 10. Dear , I use Martha Christie's book, Your Own Perfect Medicine, as my reference on pH. At pp. 166-167, she writes that the ideal pH range of urine should vary from appx. 5 to 8 during each 24 hour period. However, during urine therapy she warns to monitor pH levels to avoid an extreme in either direction. Too alkaline and the urine may decrease its anatibacterial activity. " On the other hand, if the urine is consistently excessively acidic, urine therapy could create too much of an acid burden in your body. In this case, make certain that your diet is primarily alkaline-promoting foods, so that you are balancing your pH and not adding to your body's acid burden through ingesting extremely acidic urine. " When discussing this issue with Vilik some time ago, she said she had spoken with Martha's husband, who had recommended that one start a urine fast only after the urine was alkaline, to avoid the acid burden on the body throughout the fast. Guest guest
I know it sounds crazy but maybe in the dilution supplied in the product, sodium hydroxide has some beneficial aspects in the body. The formula is 25% sodium hydroxide to 75% potassium hydroxide diluted 9 parts distilled water to one part hydroxide mixture. One once of this mixture contains aprox 700 drops with 2 drops added to 10 oz of water. This seems like a very dilute mixture but I am not a chemist so I will leave its safety as a question for now. So to answer your question Drain-o just MIGHT be good for you if taken in the Very Infinitesimal Dose as supplied in the AlkaLife product. Dennis Lipter " D. Dennis, Actually, there is a lot of research showing how plutonium can be good for you. For example, take any quantity of any purity of plutonium, and keep it at least 500 miles away from you. This is of proven health benefit! Also, since I'm here, please delete old messages in your reposts, keeping only as much as necessary to explain your answer. Not deleting this extra stuff makes the archives tediously large for people to wade through, and it is unnecessary. After I sent my reply, I did remember that it did vary, but that it was acidic more often than it was alkaline. I agree completely though that it should never go to extremes (thats why I said 'slightly' acidic). -- Marcus
