Guest guest
Perhaps we could have a Anti-Cancer topic to run on? I know broccoli and other cruciferous veggies are anti-cancer. I changed the heading to see what we come up with. Velda On 6/5/2011 2:10 PM, Lea Ann Savage wrote: I agree Velda that the odds of getting cancer are very high. I believe everyone should be on an "anti-cancer" diet. Though none of us have been diagnosed with cancer, the odds are so great, with one in 7 women diagnosed with breast cancer, and others, that I look because I might find something of worth to prevent cancer from growing. Thanks for sharing the site. My mother in law was only 55 when she died of cancer and my father in law and sister in law have each had cancer (he bladder and she cervical). I wish I could get them to do a better diet, but they do what they want to do. She fixes fried and high fat foods all the time. I about choked when I saw her boil yellow crookneck squash till very tender, then stir in a entire cube of butter, a bunch of salt and a little pepper and set in on the table to serve. That is sad, I do know the woman will take the book and read it, whether or not she will act upon it I don't know, but all life is worth saving if possible. She wants to live and I think she just might try this. The doctors won't even operate on her , she is in last stage but, this book says if it doesn't cure her, it can help with side effects and pain, and about now , she just may take any help. -------Original Message------- From: Lea Ann Savage Date: 6/5/2011 12:17:33 PM Subject: Re: New Book OT I hope you got Free Shipping on the book - I'll feel bad if you didn't, because it means that I failed to send you my code. In fact, I'll feel so bad if I didn't send you my code for Free Shipping that if you did pay any shipping I would be MORE than happy to pay your shipping! ANY orders through Vitamix for anything (spatulas, extra containers, machines, books, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) can get Free Shipping with my code: 08-0009-000399 If you already have a customer service representative that you are working with at Vitamix, feel free to use them, and mention my code - but if you don't have someone you already work with, I LOVE Kilbane at 800-848-2649 ext 2305 because she really looks out for my customers, and goes the extra mile to make sure they are happy! If anyone does use my code - I would like to get a quick email notice, so I can keep track of orders :-) My code doesn't work online. You know what is sad? I have a copy of this book (Beating Cancer With Nutrition) and tried to GIVE it to a friend who's husband was battling non-hodgkin's lymphoma and she declined. Some people just do NOT want to assume personal responsibility for their own health. They want a "quick fix" or a "pill" or a "cut it out" answer, and they don't realize or won't consider that these solutions either: 1) won't work long term, or 2) do more harm than good. The number of people are looking to solve health problems at the root cause is a minority (because this always involves changes in diet). But I don't blame them, it is not easy and sometimes death and/or illness is easier than making positive health changes FOR SOME. We all take the path of least resistance IMO. It is just that for some, changing unhealthy habits IS the path of least resistance because the pain of illness is worse FOR THEM. For others, the illness is the path of least resistance because making the changes is just too overwhelming for whatever reason. They are doing the chemo thing with her and she is in denial believing the chemo will heal her, which is good and bad. Now she is starting to feel the bad side effects of chemo, anyway I digress. The book says we all have cancer, our bodies just have the nutrition available everyday to kill the cells. She does eat bad stuff and very little good stuff. Hot dogs, red meat, almost no fruits and little veggies. Hoping this book Will help her. It also says that regular sugar feeds cancer and he recommends stevia and xylotol. Nothing else, he hasn't updated about Agave yet. Thought you guys and gals might want to know that, if you don't already. He says to take the chemo along with changing the nutrition and tells you to eat lots of fruit and veggies giving the best cancer fighting ones, saying that this has been known to combat cancer. Nutrition along with regular therapy. He is a well-know doctor that works with cancer patients so, I am hoping for her and learning what I can before I can give her the book Monday, may end up buying one for myself when I can afford it, a lot of good advise in there. Did give her my old Montel blender, yes I know, Vitamix would be better but, just can't afford to buy one for her and with all her medical bills, she can't afford them. She is devouring smoothies right now and I digress again.lol Just wanted you all to know what the doctor says about sugar, good nutrition, and he encourages if you eat meat to use fish a lot, but doesn't tell you to stop eating meat entirely. I would say go to grass feed only if you are still a meat eater, no gmo, no hormones, etc. That's just my opinion.
