, thanks for explaining about the various waterless cookware products out there. I was wondering about the Neova that Vitamix sells and you answered the question I had. MarthaTerry, check the Health Craft and/or Saladmaster sites online, as well as YouTube videos. Other companies are Americraft and Regal Ware and they're all supposed to be good (I'm only interested in the stuff that's still made here). Given that it's made here, it's virtually always mega-expensive but the

companies give a lifetime warranty and it's a very interesting way of cooking (Velda can give you a first-hand account). VERY little water is used and because of its excellent conductivity, cooking necessitates very low heat (very energy-efficient). Of course, it can be used for conventional cooking as well. Health Craft actually makes the Neova cookware that Vitamix sells but it's made to lower specs than their own line and requires more water.

Check out cookwaresplus.com. They sell waterless cookware at very reasonable

prices. Most of the products aren't made here. However, the last time I spoke

to them they were adding cookware made in the USA. I don't remember which brand

it is (I think it's Health Craft), but I remember them saying they didn't have

the actual name of the cookware online, but they do offer a brand made in the

USA. Give them a call. (I think that's her name...it's been awhile) is

one of the owners and she's really helpful.

I purchased my cookware about 2 years ago and I LOVE it. It beats the heck out

of anything I've ever used. The food cooks much faster and the color of the

veggies is super bright because you don't have to boil them to death in water.

Yesterday I washed my broccoli, drained it in a colander and then tossed it in

the pan sans oil or anything else. Very tasty.

It's a terrific concept, however, if I can ever afford to buy it, it will be American-made regardless of expense. I realize that East-Asian imports are often unavoidable but I especially try not to buy anything made in China (not always possible, I realize) and I'm not nuts about Korean- or Taiwan-made goods either unless we're talking craftware or things like tea. The manufacturers here have been making waterless cookware for quite a long time; they not only have it down but I'd like them to continue making it.
