I hope you got Free Shipping on the book - I'll feel bad if you didn't, because it means that I failed to send you my code. In fact, I'll feel so bad if I didn't send you my code for Free Shipping that if you did pay any shipping I would be MORE than happy to pay your shipping!ANY orders through Vitamix for anything (spatulas, extra containers, machines, books, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) can get Free Shipping with my code:08-0009-000399If you already have a customer service representative that you are working with at Vitamix, feel free to use them, and mention my code - but if you don't have someone you already work with, I LOVE Kilbane at 800-848-2649 ext 2305 because she really looks out for my customers, and goes the extra mile to make sure they are happy! If anyone does use my code - I would like to get a quick email notice, so I can keep track of orders :-) My code doesn't work online. You know what is sad? I have a copy of this book (Beating Cancer With Nutrition) and tried to GIVE it to a friend who's husband was battling non-hodgkin's lymphoma and she declined. Some people just do NOT want to assume personal responsibility for their own health. They want a "quick fix" or a "pill" or a "cut it out" answer, and they don't realize or won't consider that these solutions either: 1) won't work long term, or 2) do more harm than good. The number of people are looking to solve health problems at the root cause is a minority (because this always involves changes in diet). But I don't blame them, it is not easy and sometimes death and/or illness is easier than making positive health changes FOR SOME. We all take the path of least resistance IMO. It is just that for some, changing unhealthy habits IS the path of least resistance because the pain of illness is worse FOR THEM. For others, the illness is the path of least resistance because making the changes is just too overwhelming for whatever reason.

They are doing the chemo thing with her and she is in denial believing the chemo will heal her, which is good and bad. Now she is starting to feel the bad side effects of chemo, anyway I digress.

The book says we all have cancer, our bodies just have the nutrition available everyday to kill the cells. She does eat bad stuff and very little good stuff. Hot dogs, red meat, almost no fruits and little veggies. Hoping this book

Will help her. It also says that regular sugar feeds cancer and he recommends stevia and xylotol. Nothing else, he hasn't updated about Agave yet. Thought you guys and gals might want to know that, if you don't already.

He says to take the chemo along with changing the nutrition and tells you to eat lots of fruit and veggies giving the best cancer fighting ones, saying that this has been known to combat cancer. Nutrition along with regular therapy.

He is a well-know doctor that works with cancer patients so, I am hoping for her and learning what I can before I can give her the book Monday, may end up buying one for myself when I can afford it, a lot of good advise in there.

Did give her my old Montel blender, yes I know, Vitamix would be better but, just can't afford to buy one for her and with all her medical bills, she can't afford them. She is devouring smoothies right now and I digress again.lol

Just wanted you all to know what the doctor says about sugar, good nutrition, and he encourages if you eat meat to use fish a lot, but doesn't tell you to stop eating meat entirely. I would say go to grass feed only if you are still a meat eater, no gmo, no hormones, etc. That's just my opinion.

... thanks so much for posting this. My biological mother has just finished rounds of chemo and radiation after having a mastectomy. She is doing well at this point. I've been working on her to save up for a Vitamix. I've already lost my step-mother who raised me to liver cancer 5 years ago. Long story short they took the tumor down a second time to a small size, but the treatments (chemo) destroyed her body. She was a day short of 60 when she passed...Cancer is never fair, but I always say I was too young to lose my mother and I surely don't want to lose the other one. My neighbor is doing chemo/radiation for colon cancer, last I spoke with her she had some funny stuff show up on her liver and ovaries, which sounds very similar to the gal you were talking about. I've forwarded the book info to both of

them... Have a great day... Hugs...

Thank you also , I am saving this email onto my external drive. That is sad, I do know the woman will take the book and read it, whether or not she will act upon it I don't know, but all life is worth saving if possible. She wants to live and I think she just might try this. The doctors won't even operate on her , she is in last stage but, this book says if it doesn't cure her, it can help with side effects and pain, and about now , she just may take any help.

I will keep your husband in my prayers. I know - some will help themselves, and some won't - it is sad.

Lea Ann, this book was given to me along with some VM plastic cutting mats and a couple of other things when I stopped by the VM booth at the So Cal Expo a few years ago. They were getting ready to close, and when I told them I had purchased 4 Vitamixes (true), they were just about ready to give me the store! I wish I had had the book 40 years ago when my first husband was dying of cancer of the tongue. Very hard to fix him anything to eat that he could actually manage. No VM at the time, and pretty much no information on nutrition, even from the Dr. I would have given anything for the Internet in those days. At 5'11", he weighed 119# when he died. His last night in the hospital, the nurse had a very difficult time finding enough flesh to give him a pain shot. I had been giving them at home and had the

same trouble. I would encourage anyone with cancer or a loved one with cancer to obtain and read this book. I hope I never need it again, but if I do, this time I'll have it. Be blessed,Peggy

Thank you both for your condolences. That was a very difficult period of my life (Mom, Dad, husband and grandfather all died in an 18 month time span) and I had a 2-yr old daughter. But I survived it one day at a time, eventually remarried and had two sons, and am now the proud grandma of 4 beautiful and oh-so-smart grandchildren - 2 boys, 2 girls. Life is good. The cancer victims need so much compassion and their caregivers need a lot of support. Please be generous with your time and caring if you know anyone in this situation. Keep looking up!Peggy

God bless you for volunteering at the hospice. We did not have that access in 1972 either, and it would have been so welcome. My brother-in-law died of cancer a few years ago and my sister said that hospice was so helpful. You are obviously a kind and geneous person, and I applaud you and your efforts on behalf of cancer victims and their families! Peggy

Part of me wishes we would use hospice for my father (final stages of COPD and

he could go any day now), but he's being very firm in his wishes: family only,

with no outsiders (no matter how good their intentions may be). It's so HARD not

to protest, but it's his call and it must be respected.
