My gardening friend at work recommended ammending my soil with peat moss and cow

Don't use dolomite for any acid loving plant. Do you have a clay heave soil? Or

is it sandy and dry. What you add depends on what you start with.

Well, it changes the pH so in that regard it is rather a soil conditioner.
