This looks lovely. I've seen beautiful large glass pitchers of citrus water (at my local raw food restaurant) and a lot of the appeal (to me) is the sight of the tri-colored citrus slices floating in the water (orange, lemon, lime). The sight of spearmint leaves, cucumber slices and lemon slices would be pretty too.I'm so glad you shared this - I'm going to make a pitcher today!

I make healthy tea. It contains water, does that count??

I keep a gallon of green tea in frig at all times. I pour about a quart of green tea in vitamix, add 3 or 4 steavia leaves, 3 or 4 sweet mint leaves. Blend about 1 minute, pour over ice, add lemon wedge. drink up!!!!!

Oh, that sounds nice! Thanks for sharing!

I used to buy my skin care products from a salon that, in addition to crudités, always had two ice-choked pitchers of water available for clients--one plain, one with slices of orange, lemon, and lime. Miss Klinger was truly ahead of her time, and for this recipe I think I'd follow the salon's lead and just slice rather than blend.

And since this is a warm-weather beverage, may I suggest cold roasted barley tea for summer? The Japanese call it "mugicha" and the Koreans call it "boricha" and it's wonderful no matter what you call it (I make mine from a mix of barley and corn). Add 3 level tablespoons of roasted barley (or, in my case, 2 of barley, one of corn) to 4 cups water, bring to boil, simmer gently (I cover the pot) for 5 - 10 minutes. Strain, discard barley, serve plain or with lemon. (If I'm making a half-gallon, I brew the full amount of grain in a quart of water, then add the second quart after straining; it cools the tea faster, too.) I prefer it cold and like to keep it in the fridge--very refreshing!

Oh, just add the mint if you need to add anything at all! And just let everything sit overnight in the fridge--the tannins don't kick in when you cold-brew tea. No need to blend at all.

I agree with you but tea isn't devoid of benefits--far from it. Different teas (they're actually subspecies of the same plant but grown in different areas processed differently) have myriad healthful properties: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_effects_of_tea .

I'm with you--I just can't get into plain water or even plain seltzer. A little spritz of something makes all the difference which is why I'm always on red alert for ways to make it delicious.

The water made from "ricing" cauliflower in the Vitamix is delicious! Surprisingly sweet and refreshing when chilled, and makes a great base for other things too. Here is a video I made of ricing cauliflower-just strain off the water into a container and put it in the fridge.

I hate cauliflower but for those who like it, that's a terrific idea.

BTW, the autumn/winter bancha at the bottom of this page http://zencha.net/products_shizu.php makes slammin' refrigerator tea and is very cost-effective. It's not something I'd drink hot but it really is delicious if you cold-brew it. Zencha.net is one of my two sources for Japanese green tea; I've never felt the need to use any others.

I wouldn't VM any of it. This kind of drink is supposed to infuse the water with flavor just from the ingredients floating in there. You "could" blend it all up, but I wouldn't. If you did blend - I'd use much less of each ingredient. The ingredients are only supposed to flavor the water. If I made this I'd add Stevia leaves (if I had some) or stevia from a store - but that's just me…

Ok, someone mentioned the VM but your way makes sense except I have

put cucumber in water before and got NO flavor, so maybe I did not

"infuse" it long enough.
