The question on whether or not to use other meds in addition to

the aldosterone blockers seems to depend on the desired bp. My doctor

likes to see a pressure around `120/80, and this is done with Norvasc

and Accupril. If I used only Inspra, it would be about 135/90 to

140/95. I've always assumed that there is kidney damage prior to

finding PA. It takes years to develope the hypokalimia that's the

giveaway.

Other damage would be LVH which might be a cause of swelling and

could be treated with Amiloride, a potassium sparing diuretic.

The upshot is not the drugs you need, but the damage uncontrolled

high blood pressure can do. Where that pb is, is a question that can

only be answered by your doctor and your adversion to risk. Wayne
