Feel free to ask for recommendations! I also have a tiny, tiny kitchen...but all the gadgets fit! (we have a charming little mini bread machine-cheeky red, makes a half loaf....and we have the mini GF grill-perfect for a panini or two)! I love my magic bullet! It sure has its applications. I don't have the small wet mix container for the VM yet so when I'm doing smaller things the bullet works great! But I *have* to have both the bullet and the VM. :) Oh .. and my Kitchen Aid Food Processor and Mixer and all those other handy gadgets.I'm on the verge of being a gadget addict - even with my small kitchen and limited space I make everything fit somehow. Next it'll be a bread machine. Maybe a Foreman grill? Oh dear! LOL

That's just crazy. The Magic Bullet is the easiest thing to clean -- it usually takes me less than 10 seconds using a bottle brush on the cup and the blade attachment. And I only need to keep the base and one cup with one blade attachment on the counter. As the infomercial says, it takes about as much space on your counter as a coffee mug. And I do like that I can put the cup in the microwave.

However, the infomercial does vastly overrate what the MB is capable of. I would love to see a version of the infomercial where they don't have any cuts to hide the process they are doing. I would never attempt to chop onions unless I want puree/juice.

I used to have a VitaMix, but gave it to my uncle. I just found it too big and bulky. I recently bought a Ninja, but I still bring out the MB for the times I just need a quick puree of something. Again, it's SOOOO much easier to clean than the Ninja. And I'm so afraid I'm going to cut myself on those Ninja blades, since I'm such a klutz.

Perhaps it was the Ninja that she had - I think of them as the same appliance.

The mochi maker is GREAT...but huge! I have only used it twice, but made enough mochi both times to last me a good while! As much as it makes at a time, I think I will only need to use it twice a year to keep enough stored.

I have had mine (and given it quite a workout) for years. Mine is the type that has the bun warmer on top. My daughters friends often use it for making panini sandwiches-it is one of the few appliances THEY are allowed to play with, lol. If a group of teens hasn't trashed it in all this time, I would say it is durable-never had a problem with it.From: <kareningotham@...>Subject: Re: gm all...question re magic bullet OT Date: Thursday, June 2, 2011, 3:52 PM

I reviewed a Foreman grill for Amazon 2+ years ago and it has since died. I now have another one they sent me for review; I guess we'll just have to see but given the longevity (or lack thereof) of the first one, my advice is to find something else. Too bad, too--Big is one of my idols.

I've had a Tribest for several years.

It's used more than my Vita mix, I list it as indispensable.

I went down the street to the 24-hour grocery. When I got there, the

guy was locking the front door. I said, " Hey, the sign says you're

open 24 hours. " He said, " Yes, but not in a row. " --

I have a Bullet that is 3 years old and only used it a few times,

because I found it just did not chop as well as advertised. When I want

to chop a small amount (up to a cup or so) I have a Cuisinart Mini

Processor which costs I think either $25 or 35 at Costco. It has only 3

parts which go in dishwasher-container, lid and blade. It replaced a

Krups model of a similar chopper. I LOVE them. They are on counter and

used almost daily, because of reasons you state, Hate to grab Vm when

it's for chopping only say a cup of onion. Love my VM but also love my

mini processor.

In my house the kitchen is mine.  my wife thinks it’s a room that you walk thru to get to the back door. Over the years I have collected many gadgets and have no more storage space for new ones ; so we imposed a new rule ten years ago I can’t buy anything new but I can buy replacements as long as something goes I can get a new one.  I have bent this rule a few times and broke it a couple of times. I'm considering getting one for when I'm away from home. I have a MB, but it

acts wonky for tougher jobs now. It's still really good for grinding a bit of

flax or sesame seeds to throw in smoothies or on salads.

I have owned the same Excaliber (electric) dehydrator for over 20

years. I am very happy with it, both quality and how it works. Noise

wise, it does make some, but I can tell you, I have it out in my

sunroom, right off my living room and with glass door shut, I have

to open the door and listen to know if it is still running, so not

that noisy. Are they any good? Goes without saying, I am still using

mine at past 20 years and it had just one repair a couple of years

ago when a heat controller died. Owner of company fixed it because I

live close, but you may never need repairs as he said they have

improved that part, and after all it did last nearly 20 years before

needing that.

I also HIGHLY recommend the Excalibur dehydrator. I have had mine for years, and run it all night, EVERY night (I run mine at night so I don't have to listen to the fan during the day)...It is NOT exceptionally loud, about like a standard floor fan, but I like peace in my kitchen and since I am in it all day, I just prefer to run mine at night. I am working on a group deal pricing arrangement for the Excalibur now-if it goes through, I can get us better pricing than you will find elsewhere. (I don't make anything by doing this) I will post an update when I know if we can get it)

For me it is easier to use than the VM when making small batch of

salsa or guacamole or the like as to make small in VM it takes much

more work to get all the goodies out of the bottom.

Yes, I have 3 but still find it challenging at times to get stuff

like humos out of the bottom near the blade, esp before I learned to
