Guest guest
Hi Everyone Have figured a fruit smoothie with protein powder in it and yogurt is a good breakfast (apple, banana, orange, yogurt, whey protein, frozen berries and ice). Going to work on a veggie smoothie with protein for dinner - was thinking of a combination of (bell pepper, spinach, carrot, tomato, ginger or garlic or both?, onion and celery with a splash of hot sauce). Anyway - I like to keep things basic/simple and was wondering if anyone had thoughts or additions/subtractions or difference they might do or might already do? The best part is my hubby is really into this and it's a huge huge help to have him on board. We also celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary tomorrow the 16th. I have lost 50# pre-Vitamix but I have another 50# I would like to lose to reach my goal and I feel I can do it - but with our budget as it is, I have to be mindful and keep things healthy, but simple (and as inexpensive as possible) at least until my Vitamix is paid for as I still have 4 more payments on it of $90. Thank you for any input or suggestions in advance. I have found this to be a very caring and informative group. I still am thinking about the 32 oz container (wet) but have to wait a while. Would like the tamper when I get that too though. Tamper can come in handy! Happy Sunday to all! Oh - and I'm on digest so also feel free to write me privately/off-list if you'd like. Thank you! Guest guest
Congratulations both on the weight loss and the anniversary! IT depends on your individual body but I am not sure I would add both yogurt and protein powder. Veggies do have lots of protein too. I would add a veg or two to the morning smoothie, maybe lower fruit a little. Lea Ann has a list of the veggies which add no taste to a smoothie and I can tell you I can't tell when I add a piece of cabbage or a stalk of celery to my smoothie and they are lower in calories but high in nutrition than many fruits. I would saute the onion a little before adding as it tastes "raw" to me when added to a veg green soup type mixture. I need to try Lea Ann's green soup, but have made her tortilla soup and cream of broccoli and we loved both. Guest guest
I am so happy for you that your hubby is in this with you. You are a LUCKY woman!Have you seen my "Cold Green Soup" recipe? It's all-veggie and you might like it.I also make "Hot Green Soup" whenever I'm at shows by taking my Tortilla Soup recipe and adding lots of greens. I also add meat to this because I don't have time to properly chew my food when I'm at a show… Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)))><'>www.VitamixLady.comwww..com<))>< On May 15, 2011, at 3:07 PM, Roxanne wrote: Hi Everyone Have figured a fruit smoothie with protein powder in it and yogurt is a good breakfast (apple, banana, orange, yogurt, whey protein, frozen berries and ice).
