Burnt smell, wrecked motor?

Hi everyone,

New here, and new to Vmixing.

I just received my VMxer last week. Love it!

I have been loving the " ice creams " since we are dairy free.

I've made vanilla " ice cream " with macadamia nut milk, vanilla, honey, stevia,

and 4 cups of ice cubes as per recipe (modified for dairy free).

The sound the machine sounds scary, loud and I'm thinking the whole time that

I'm wrecking the machine.

Then, per recipe, I used the tamper, and was really having to push the ice back

down to get it mixed. While doing this, I smelt a burnt smell, and immediately

turned off the machine. My husband thinks I overused the tamper. I was just

trying to get all the ice mixed.

Could the motor be damaged? I have used it since without a problem, but this

made me nervous to try the ice creams again.

Any advice? Should I contact Vitamix since it is a new machine, should it do

this?

Thank you,

Tina & family
