Guest guest
Does anyone know of any connection between Agent Orange exposure and Hyperaldosteronism? Are there any Vietnam Vets in this group? I am getting ready for a VA physical for Agent Orange and I was wondering if there was a connection there?

I am not aware of it but have seen PAin many vets but dont know the exposure Hx. Good Question to ask you VA docs. If it were common then I would expect to see a lot of AOs with HTN and have never heard about that but then the VA does not ususally measure BP carefully as they have removed all mercury devices from the VA is my understanding. Likely that many more vets will die of HTN than from mercury problems related to BP devices. The amount of Hg that gets into the envorionemnt from Hg manometers must be very small to zero compared to what the big coal burner down the road her does each year. They are throwing out the baby with the bath water when they remove the most important medical devices we have-the mercury manometer...but that is a different topic. May your pressure be low! Yep but is is not likely accurat or reliable for example they likley only take it once. May your pressure be low! Clarence E. Guest guest
Thank you for your insight, on this. This problem isn't addressed directly with anything I have found. As to the BP, if they aren't using mercury, then they are using something else because they always check my BP. Thanks again
