Actually it may help with weight loss.  I know of one person who

ONLY did the water cure recipe and lost about 40lbs in a a few

months.

Sometimes the body stores extra fat (like that last 5-10lb) as a

buffer if you are too acidic.

I remember reading or hearing this info so take it with a grain

of.... Well you get the idea.

I've often wondered how "The Water Cure" would work in

the case of obesity.  There must be a cut off point where

the "1/2 of your body weight in ounces" can no longer

apply.  I would think, however, that 1/2 of your ideal

body weight (for a person's height and frame) would be a

bare minimum daily requirement.

The one thing wrong with that

take size into consideration.   A

drinking 11 cups (or even getting

from other sources)  doesn't make

sense.  Jmo

Wow, when I drink my 4 Mason jars

per day I'm only one cup above the

"recommended" allotment for women!

Hi ,

I'm currently getting

13 cups a day for men

includes water you drink

Also, keep in mind

this is traditional

That is super news, so happy for you

-- OT - daily requirement for water

Ah, but you are the QUEEN of "listening to your body"! I really wish that I was as in tune as you are. I need to start keeping a food diary to figure out what foods and/or supplements make me have my "bad days". But back to the water thing… I really don't like drinking water at all and only have the slightest "thirst" now after months of doing this, and only if I drink two instead of 3 or 4 Mason jars of water.

If I didn't force myself to drink my water on a schedule, I'd NEVER drink it. I can't rely on thirst :-(

So that's my sob story, but I have a praise report on this same topic. I've been on this diet for fast metabolizers for about 2 months now - they say that once you are feeding your body according to your "ideal" diet that it will start healing itself. I've been feeling great on 10 mgs of cytomel (T3 only thyroid medicine) per day for almost a year now, but for the last week I've been feeling TERRIBLE again and despairing that the diet for fast metabolizers was no longer working for me. Well, this is an example of how long it takes me to figure things out, but after about 5-6 days of my heart constantly pounding and getting worse daily, I started thinking, "what makes my heart pound? And I remembered that too much T3 can do this. I considered, hmmm, perhaps I no longer need the T3 and now what used to make me feel great is making me feel bad. I tried eliminating my T3 for a day and voila! I felt better! Truly amazing to me as the T3 made me feel GREAT when I first began taking it and now I no longer need it!

This is why I am not a fan of "RDA or other "requirements". I believe a person should listen to their body, not some chart that doesn't account for other needs. I do believe we should all set a "target" of what we feel we need, but I think it should be based on how our body feels EACH day. For instance, if I am out gardening on a hot summer day, I am going to need more water than if I am sitting inside sewing. Trying to force water down myself on a day I don't need as much is only going to make me feel bad. I keep water with me at ALL times, and sip on it throughout the day. When I feel hungry, I drink a tall glass of water BEFORE I think about eating-often "hunger" is just the body's cry for hydration. I think the "RDA" for vitamins and other nutrition is a load of hype, and is part of the reason we are a sick society. So many foods are "enriched" with crappy, synthetic vitamins and "nutrients" designed to help us meet that RDA. If we all ate whole, natural foods (easy with the Vitamix) and learned to tune in to the VERY ACCURATE signals our body gives us for alerting us to its needs, we wouldn't need a chart dreamed up by a bunch of stuffy old farts back in the 1940's to tell us what we "should" have. I often wonder if they were munching on doughnuts while the decided what the "average" consumer "should" be eating.
