Some of the best tomatoes I ever ate was in the first few years

after we moved into the house I grew up in, back in the early 50's.

The house was built on former tomato fields, back when tomatoes were

not hybridized like they are now. The town was famous for it's Heinz

Ketchup factory. Anyhow, for several years on this one side each

year big old rambling tomato plants would come up in the same area

and put out the best tomatoes. Dad just let nature do her thing and

we reaped the harvest. After a while it stopped, but they were good

while they lasted.

One year, I had

just scattered the seeds in one of our raised beds.

Turned out to be the BEST garden area we have ever

done-had all sorts of herbs, lemon cucumbers, little

prince eggplants, baby corn-you name it.  Might do it

again this year just for fun.  (my gardens got WRECKED by

the storm a few weeks ago and I am scrambling to catch

up-this may be just the thing, lol)

That's sort of what I am hoping to do with the

land that I just bought and am planning to move to

in a couple of years. I want a little semblance of

order, but if stuff does so well that it's running

rampant, I will consider myself a success!

For the time being, the mint that I got has been

planted in a rectangular planter and is on my deck

railing. Unless the stuff makes a break for it and

jumps down into my yard, I think it's contained.

LOL, sorry, April, but you will quickly learn I am not a "recipe" person. My food allergies made it where I learned to just chuck stuff in the VM until it works for me. I just put about the same volume of cooked white beans in as anyone else would use a banana. I often use beans as a base, but my favorite it pumpkin. My pumpkin pie ice cream "recipe" is in the files section. From: April Pease <alp@...>Subject: Re: Spinach Ice Cream? Date: Wednesday, May 18, 2011, 7:55 PM

WHITE BEANS in Ice Cream??? Do you have a recipe for that??

THANK YOU for the Spinach Mint Lime sorbet recipe!!

Sure! If you are getting messages via email, just go to the bottom of the message where it says "visit your group on the web"-click on that, then you will see FILES on the left of the group home page. Have fun-lots of good info there! From: April Pease <alp@...>
