A golden opportunity

Hi List!

I'm on digest now, and don't get to read the posts till the next day --

so don't know what the current conversation is. (In other words, this may

seem out of context in terms of what's happening today, because I don't

know what that is.) But have something to say that is, as those mailings

say, " time limited. "

There has been a discussion of politics, and of ways to support an

important figure in the radical healing/political arena, Ed Mc Cabe, who is

in jail. If it has not already been brought up today, I'd like to bring to

your attention another radical healer who is in need of some assistance,

and who is still on this side of the jail doors. It's none other than our

good friend, Tom Harrelson.

As far as I can see, Tom has devoted his life to finding ways to help

people heal outside the medical system. If you haven't visited his website,

you're in for an awe-inspiring treat. And we know what he has contributed

to this list. Well, right now Tom needs community support...from this

community.

A brief word about community. " United we stand " , Green said. Truer than

most of us even imagine. One of the best ways to take away a people's power

is to destroy their sense of community. What I have found on these lists,

and what I suspect most of you have found too, is community. And community

is empowering, both personally and politically.

Well, one of our own, one of our healers, now needs our help. He is in

what sounds like a pretty overwhelming financial bind, which is affecting

even his living situation. As I see it, there are several levels we can

help on.

1. If you want charcoal, order it today! (Info follows.) If it is not

ordered, Tom will have to return the case within weeks. (P.S. I've been

taking a heaping teaspoon of charcoal every night. Very good stuff. Very

cleansing. And charcoal out of caps is not easy to obtain. Do not pass up

this opportunity!)

2. If you want to send Tom a " Christmas present " , DO IT NOW!!!!! (Info

follows)

A policial act of support for an extraordinary healer (Besides Ed, wouldn't

you like to also support a healer who is free and doing his work?) A

personal Christmas present from the heart. (Oh come on...would you rather

get Aunt Matilda that bottle of toilet water she won't even use, or give

Tom something he surely will!) This small act will make you glow all day!

3. Let's figure out how to support people like Tom in their work. Now

there's a discussion topic. Any " angels " want to think about funding Tom's

work? How about monthly stipends? If we want radical healers among us, we

need to thing about how to provide them the basic necessities so they can

do their work.

This is a golden opportunity, my friends, whether your motives are

political or holdiday " warm fuzzies " , to extend the meaning of this list

community beyond the borders and boundaries of hyperspace.

Vilik! this is great! i had an exchange with Tom this morning and from

what i learned over our exchange, this is perfect--will really help. i

can afford a small donation, but i also plan on ordering a can of

charcoal. i take your word that it's helpful. i just want to ask a few

questions to clear up my ignorance. many people consider charred or

burnt food is carcinogenic. yet, in chinese medicine charcoal is a

treatment method called " du kong du " meaning 'poison fighting poison'.

maybe i've got the wrong story and/or this stuff might be different. ?

And charcoal out of caps is not easy to obtain.

what is " out of caps " ?
