Guest guest
Grandkids hell--I want to try it! As long as it lacks that minty undertone that bubble gum has, I'll love it. But I'll sub skim milk cubes for ice. Bubble Gum Ice Cream Bubble Gum Ice Cream (the color is bubble gum and the taste is surprisingly reminiscent of bubble gum :-) 1 cup white grape juice concentrate (Old Orchard and Welches are both good brands) 1/2 frozen banana 2-3 frozen strawberries 1/3 cup red cabbage enough ice to bring the ingredients up to the 4 cup line Don't let picky kids see you put the cabbage in there… the color comes from the cabbage and strawberries. This is yummy and FUN! Guest guest
So....how do you measure 1/3 C cabbage? I guess it has to be chopped up--but how fine? Like slaw? I'm going to try this on my son. I'm not holding my breath. He hasn't liked anything yet! Guest guest
Just cut a small wedge of red cabbage. Start small and if your kid likes it you can always sneak up the amount in future batches. The cabbage gives it the bubble gum color. Guest guest
So happy to read this report! My real grape juice container was empty in the freezer so I used 100% orange juice, added some almond milk, threw in some strawberries (frozen) 2 half frozen bananas, mixed frozen fruit, and a wedge of purple cabbage. It was awesome. The kids loved it. k

Guest guest
Many years ago, when my Mom was still teaching kindergarten, on the last day of school she (with my Dad's help) made ice cream /sherbet. It was central California so usually quite warm by June. She used skim milk, juice of oranges, bananas, juice of lemons and probable a little sugar. My Dad helped with the freezing part. The children loved it. I wish they had lived long enough to make it for my children when they were old enough to remember it. They did not have a VitaMix but Dad was good with ice, salt, and his ice cream maker.
