Guest guest
g thanks for rubbing that in! But are snow is now mostly gone and it was warmish today. I have a friend in CA and an Aunt. When we played the international silver stick hockey tournament here in Ontario (was in Niagara Falls) there was a team we played from CA there and they sooo enthused with throwing snowballs after the game. They were very excited with the snow. It was cute. Carolyn In a message dated 4/11/2011 3:39:58 A.M. Guest guest
Just make sure that your percentage of frozens is no more than 75% total and put the liquids on the bottom of the container. If you want to get really fussy with amounts, pre-measure your water before making cubes, e.g., if you freeze 16 oz. of water in your ice cube tray and you want to substitute some ice for 16 oz. of water in a recipe, try half a tray of cubes and 8 oz. of water. I personally don't want to drive myself nuts this way but everyone's different. Guest guest
It's hard to find good strawberries here now, so I'm gonna try this with some frozen mixed berries. I have just recently got some coconut sugar too, so reckon that could be sweetener. Can't wait to try it - sounds SOOO refreshing, yum yum. I'll report back on the result. Guest guest
It'll be about the consistency of a frozen margarita. Slushy and yummy. I basically do what you do, only I use about 2 cups ice instead of water and less strawberries (depending on my mood). It's good stuff! The ratios of ingredients are pretty flexible. I mostly just eyeball it, and it always turns out perfect. > > > > > Just made this and it is yummy! > > 2 peeled lemons > 16 oz H2O > 2 handfuls of frozen strawberries > 1/3 cup honey granules > > started on variable 1, quickly increased to variable 10, then to high for > about 30 seconds. Guest guest
I never appreciated fresh lemons, until my trees started producing. They are so much better than any store bought. If I were not so full from dinner, I would go pick a couple and get the straweberries from downstairs freezer. So, how was it. What did you use to sweeten? Guest guest
OK - I just made this using frozen raspberries, the peeled lemon, a couple of fresh dates to sweeten, and threw in a couple of spinach leaves for good measure. Yum yum - this is so delicious and refreshing!! I would never have thought of using a whole lemon, so this is great. Though I think I will double the dates next time as it's not quite sweet enough. But still gorgeous.I can feel it doing me good too, as i'm currently down with a sore throat. We've been busy at work, I've been cutting corners by resorting to weetbix for brekkie instead of the green smoothie (stupid I know), so now I'm sick. Serves me right silly me - lesson learned!!
