Guest guest
Sensory issues seem to be fairly common with kids on the spectrum. There are some great books out there by Carol Kranowitz. They were my bible when we first started this process. We also found an OT that would come and do sensory integration therapy in our home so that we could learn to help , and would learn it was okay for us to help! Good luck! lj
Guest guest
sensory integration issues are not UNCOMMON in AS children. It's part of the reason many AS kids have trouble functioning "normally" out in the world, school, etc. Have you checked with your neurologist or perhaps your school psychologist?pntnmrmansmom <pntnmrmansmom@...> wrote: Does anyone have a child with this? My son has it and i have once again not been given info on it... I am not happy with the special education programs here in AZ. Animals have more rights than kids here.. once again any info would be wonderful.... Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates. Guest guest
I think I posted this earlier, but this is a wonderful free mini course on Sensory integration in Individuals with Asperger's. Here is the link. http://www.ddleadership.org/aspergers/courses/sensory/ I also have a 4 page handout that we prepared as part of our " introduction to... series that we developed. I am happy to email it to you if you want to email me offlist. I can probably share other resources and our experiences with you if you want to email me off the list. Guest guest
Hi, has anyone had a SI evaluation for their child? I feel this is part of Lyssa's melt downs at school. Her Ped thinks it may be good to have an evaluation done. I was just wondering if anyone has had one for their child and how they test them?
