Sent from the Internet _(Details)_ (aolmsg://028900b0/inethdr/2) HI - I know I have not visited this site in a while but life has been busy. I have a concern and need some feed back from other parents as I do not know who else to turn to. My son will be 23 next month - just so you know the age range he leveled out around the 10 to 12 years mentaly. He is for the most part a really loving and giving person who loves to help others. My problem is this - from time to time without any warning he will go from " Dr Jeklel to Mr Hyde " as I call it. His mood and temperment will go from a loving and happy person to something that is yelling and downright nasty. he has hit me, bit me, head-butted me along with the yelling. My only saving grace when this happens is the training I received years ago in detaining and pinning a person - I have had to put him in an arm lock (arms pinned behind his back) while waiting for him to calm down. He only started doing this within the last couple years, but the episodes are getting more frequent. I have taken away privildges and even sent him to bed really yearly after the last episode - none of this seems to have any effect on him long term only for that day. I am a single parent so it is just me - he does have a care provider, but I only have so many hours per month and I do not have any family that is available to help me. I am open to any suggestions or recommendations anyone has. My e-mail address is tfwildirishrose@... Thank you for any help or guidance anyone may have. - frustrated mom
