Guest guest
Hello Carol, My first blood urine test only took 6 days. The next time I had to have them done I waited about a month for the results. Are you seeing an Endocrinologist?...Do you know if there is a mass on one or both adrenals?...Just curious..I am waiting for another adrenal catheterization as they messed up the first one...What meds are you taking?.. Take Care, Mark aldosterone blood test Hi, Does any one know if the blood and urine tests for aldosterone takes longer than normal blood test. I had mine done over a week ago and they are not back yet. Thanks. Carol
Guest guest
Mark, Thanks for your reply. I thought the aldosterone blood tests took a little longer. I am seeing an internal medicine specialist. (We don't have an Endocrinologist where I live.) I am not sure if I have any tumors or masses. I have not had a cat scan or MIR yet. Re: the medicines I am on: I take 1200 mg of slow K a day, (for the last 4 months) and my potassium readings tend to be around between 3.1 and 3.6 (normal 3.5 - 5). I take renedil 5 mg. for my blood pressure and I am lucky that it is working well to keep the BP normal. (It had flared to 220/120 in November a couple of times until they got the right medicine to control it) I had normal Blood Pressure up to that point. I also take synthroid for my thyroid and losec for my stomach. My thyroid went under active and then over active last summer and I had a b12 deficiency. As I result, my health has not been the best since last spring. It was only in November that the other things were realized. And everything takes a long time in the medical field where I live. I hope someday to be back to a healthy person. I work part time. I have good days and bad days. I get over tired and exhaused easily, and when that happens, I am a few days down. I find if I manage my enegy carfully, I do best. As a result, I don't really do alot. How long have you been unwell with this? Do you know when you will have your next adrenal catheterization? I hope they get this one right. From what I have read on the web about these things, making a good recovery seems possible. I hope so for all of us. I hope you have a good day and the sun is shining where you live. Carol

Carol The tests can take up to three weeks depending upon where you live because there are only two labs in the USA that can test for it. (according to my dauughter's doctors.) Many of the tests related to endocrinology take several weeks.
