Guest guest
Regarding my blood pressure, it seems to be 130/83 in the morning at 9:30 AM and then 137/92 in the evening at 9:30 PM. Is that common? I have been taking 12.5 mg (1/2 tablet of Inspra in the morning with 5 mg. of Norvasc. I will try taking 12.5 mg of Inspra in the morning and 12.5 mg at night to see if I can tolerate it and hopefully get a better blood pressure reading at night. Is it advisable to split the Norvasc 5 mg. into 2.5 mg in the morning and 2.5 mg at night or does it not really matter? Any suggestions would be appreciated. > > > I would be surprised if these were due to Inspra this fast, but > > then as this > > > is a drug few of us have used yet will need to keep tabs on this > > site I think. > > > > > > > > > Has your weight gone up or down? > > > > > > Are you getting up at night > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 1/6/04 14:32:58, airlinerg@r... writes: > > > > > > > > > > I have taken Inspra (eplerenone) 25 mg instead of Midamor > > (amiloride > > > > HBr) 5 mg for 3 days now. > > > > > > > > My side effects from Inspra (eplerenone) at 25 mg: > > > > > > > > 1. strong metallic taste > > > > 2. very thirsty > > > > 3. bad headache > > > > 4. feeling very dried out > > > > 5. increased urination > > > > 6. feeling fatigued > > > > 7. feeling nervous > > > > > > > > The worst side effect for me is this bad headache because I > > already > > > > have fibromyalgia as well. > > > > > > > > My blood pressure is 130/85 to 135/90. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Here is the medication I am currently taking: > > > > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > Morning: > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > Inspra (eplernone) 25 mg [replaced Midamor (amiloride > > > > hydrochloride) 5 mg with Inspra 25 mg on January 3, 2004] > > > > Norvasc (amlodipine besylate) 5 mg > > > > Vitamin C 500 mg > > > > Vitamin E 400 iu > > > > Multivitamin > > > > > > > > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > Evening: > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > Cardura (doxazosin mesylate) 1 mg > > > > Celexa (citalopram HBr) 10 mg [increased from 5 mg to 10 mg on > > > > January 2, 2004] > > > > Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) 10 mg > > > > Vitamin C 500 mg > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My test results as of November 4, 2003 when I was on the Midimor > > > > were: > > > > > > > > Potassium 3.9 mmol/l > > > > Renin 0.25 ng/ml/hr > > > > Aldosterone 18 ng/dl > > > > Triglycerides 167 > > > > Cholesterol 149 > > > > HDL Cholesterol 31 > > > > LDL Cholesterol 85 > > > > > > > CHOL/HDL Ratio 4.8 > > > > > > > > As you can see I doubled my Celexa (still a small dose 5 mg to 10 > > > > mg) a day before starting the Inspra. > > > > > > > > I do not know if I should continue the Inspra or if I should go > > back > > > > to the Midamor. Guest guest
I got ANOTHER bad headache and terrible thirstiness from just 12.5 mg Inspra. I am giving up 12.5 mg Inspra and going back to 5 mg Midamor (amiloride) instead of Inspra 12.5 mg for the time being. I will be taking again: Morning: -------- 5 mg Midamor (amiloride) 5 mg Norvasc (amlodipine) multi-vitamin 500 mg vitamin C 400 IU vitamin E Evening: -------- 500 mg vitamin C 10 mg Lipitor (atorvastatin) 1 mg Cardura (doxazosin) Also as low salt diet as possible, and as much exercise as possible. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks. > > > > I would be surprised if these were due to Inspra this fast, but > > > then as this > > > > is a drug few of us have used yet will need to keep tabs on > this > > > site I think. > > > > > > > > > > > > Has your weight gone up or down? > > > > > > > > Are you getting up at night > > > > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 1/6/04 14:32:58, airlinerg@r... writes: > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have taken Inspra (eplerenone) 25 mg instead of Midamor > > > (amiloride > > > > > HBr) 5 mg for 3 days now. > > > > > > > > > > My side effects from Inspra (eplerenone) at 25 mg: > > > > > > > > > > 1. strong metallic taste > > > > > 2. very thirsty > > > > > 3. bad headache > > > > > 4. feeling very dried out > > > > > 5. increased urination > > > > > 6. feeling fatigued > > > > > 7. feeling nervous > > > > > > > > > > The worst side effect for me is this bad headache because I > > > already > > > > > have fibromyalgia as well. > > > > > > > > > > My blood pressure is 130/85 to 135/90. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Here is the medication I am currently taking: > > > > > > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > > > Morning: > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > > > Inspra (eplernone) 25 mg [replaced Midamor (amiloride > > > > > hydrochloride) 5 mg with Inspra 25 mg on January 3, 2004] > > > > > Norvasc (amlodipine besylate) 5 mg > > > > > Vitamin C 500 mg > > > > > Vitamin E 400 iu > > > > > Multivitamin > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > > > Evening: > > > > > ________ > > > > > > > > > > Cardura (doxazosin mesylate) 1 mg > > > > > Celexa (citalopram HBr) 10 mg [increased from 5 mg to 10 mg > on > > > > > January 2, 2004] > > > > > Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) 10 mg > > > > > Vitamin C 500 mg > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My test results as of November 4, 2003 when I was on the > Midimor > > > > > were: > > > > > > > > > > Potassium 3.9 mmol/l > > > > > Renin 0.25 ng/ml/hr > > > > > Aldosterone 18 ng/dl > > > > > Triglycerides 167 > > > > > Cholesterol 149 > > > > > HDL Cholesterol 31 > > > > > LDL Cholesterol 85 > > > > > > > > > CHOL/HDL Ratio 4.8 > > > > > > > > > > As you can see I doubled my Celexa (still a small dose 5 mg > to 10 > > > > > mg) a day before starting the Inspra. > > > > > > > > > > I do not know if I should continue the Inspra or if I should > go > > > back > > > > > to the Midamor.
