That's because it contains its own sugars; this is why (before I

realized that Kim was a yeast abuser!) I suggested a very small amount

of sugar in each bottle. Try it my way first and see if you get some

fizz. If not, CAUTIOUSLY try the cinnamon stick. :)

Kim,

One good way to get fizz from your Kombucha is to put a cinnamon stick

in your bottle (not the brewing container). Cap it for a day and be

careful when you open it! The first time I did this, I had a gusher! It

doesn't give much taste to the KT.

I didn't mean to be a yeast abuser. I started out making a 2 gallon batch but as I am the only one in the house that will drink it I down sized. I also lost my directions so was going from memory. Clearly my memory isn't so good. Seriously, I think you're going to find a world of difference. And if

you're the only one drinking it, 3 liters is perfect for a week. Try it.

Oh maybe I'll be on the same cover as woman has alien baby and Miley goes to jail with Lindsey.New batch of tea is brewing as we speak. I used a gallon of water so I'll add 2 to 2 1/2 cups of sugar to the tea. Peggy I would prefer it to be fizzy but would drink it even if it wasn't as long as it tasted decent. The stuff I've been making has been too nasty for me to even force myself to drink. Needless to say I've not been making it as much as I'd planned.Kim in OR

It's really a LOT easier to brew the tea, dissolve the sugar, and let it cool if you start with a relatively small amount of water. You can even cool it with the water you add in to make up the volume but it's just a pain to boil it all at once, have to wait for it to cool, and then have to transfer it piecemeal into your brewing vessel. Make your life easier--start small, let it cool to room temperature, and add the rest of the water later.

Some people put a raisin in the jar. I don't, and only use tea and sugar. I don't refrigerate mine either. Not enough room.

I emulsify a Scobie from my Kombucha and use it as a skin 'lotion'Carol K________________________________________________<<I think the teaching part is important. I had my Vitamix for years and just used it as a "blender". Once I learned to use it for so many other things it became indispensable. Once people realize it's more than just a blender they can justify the cost.Get a bag of chips and make the Pineapple Salsa (or use mango).I expect to see demos with unusual stuff like hand cream with a free hand massage.Home made dog food.etc

My recipe called for 1 - 1 2/4 cup sugar per batch (making 1 gallon) the sugar gets ate up. k
