Guest guest
No no--a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) is the "mushroom" (it's not, really) used to culture kombucha (usually abbreviated KT). Guest guest
We nic named it the "fungus among-us" at our house. Lol Tell how you emulsify it. Just cream it in the VM? Do you add anything to it? I have a scoby hotel that just sits there waiting for a crisis. Lol I make 2 gallons every 8 or 9 days. Its just enough for my husband. If I drink it Too, which I should, I need to make 3. Maybe I will start doing that again. I like it foamy and I like it when its fresh, not a week old. I don't put it in the fridge though, Not enough room. k -- Re: Unusual uses for VM....was my first smoothie I'm sorry but I have to LOL here because I am sitting here thinking she emusifies a what from what??? Guest guest
Ok, just read something about a Scoby being a sort of mushroom (fungus). Few years back allergy doc said I was allergic to mold and fungus. Does that even pertain to this discussion. This kombucha stuff fascinates me and I plan to research more but don't want to make my self sick. Guest guest
I am doing something wrong with my KT (Kombucha Tea) It never does get fizzy. Guest guest
? Why are you adding grape juice? I don't add anything to my KT after the first brew--I just bottle it and let it sit for three days before refrigerating it. Try pulling your brew for the following batch from the bottom of your container--that's where the CO2-producing yeast live.
