Guest guest
Since this group has had very little posted in the last month it has been suggested we amalagamate with Dr Grim's blood pressure group. To make this a democratic choice I've set up a poll and would like you to vote please! Helen
Guest guest
I am very much against combining this group with Dr. Grim's group. I have joined that group and found far too many messages out there to go through. A lot of it is of no interest to me. I don't care about the DASH diet or which blood pressure monitor to use or how to properly check my bp!!! I want to talk to others with hyperaldosteronism to see if any of the others have my symptoms which doctor's can't explain. I am dividing my time between here and my parents' home (300 miles away) because my mother is not well. I don't have the time to spend all day on the internet sorting thru messages that don't apply to Conn's. Guest guest
Helen, I got onto the web site and voted, at least I think I did unless I forgot to press the enter button. Should the screen change after I voted? It didn't change. Do you have any way of telling if you got my vote? Guest guest
I endorse these sentiments. Dr Grim is unfortunately something of an eccentric and not all his statements can be trusted, I might add. However, I personally do not want it that way and it was offered as an alternative. My reasons for not wanting to join up the groups are the same as yours - the bloodpressureline group has so many posts and all of them irrelevant to me. Like you, my concern and interest is Conn's and not the DASH or blood pressure. I hope, though, that this group will stick to on-topic posts. That is, about Hyperaldosteronism. If anyone wants to discuss blood pressure in depth, it would be more worth their while to do so on the Dr Grim's bloodpressure group where they can talk about how to measure BP and the diets etc. So...my vote is no and I will respond to Helen's post to vote. Elaine If you have Conn's you should be very interested in the DASH diet as it will markedly improve your low K problems and likely make your BP much easier to control. May your pressure be low! Guest guest
Actually, Blood Pressure does apply to Conn's. It is a very BIG factor. Guest guest
I can go in and look at the scores to date so don't worry, your vote is there! I'm really tied up at work and home right now so only check my e-mail a couple of times a week. we have a huge evaluation coming up at work - the results of which will mean the department where I work will get funding next year or sink without a trace. On the home front we are renting a house whilst waiting for our new house to be built (estimate next Easter). All was great until our landlord phoned to tell us he is coming home from Cyprus 6 months earlier than expected and needs his house back at the end of September. Last 2 weeks have been spent trying to find somewhere to live..... think I cracked it on Saturday just got to clear it all with the agent next week. Guest guest
My sense is that most would like to keep separately and this is find but when I respond I will copy to bloodpressureline as my comments are usually of interested to them on anything that has to do with HTN. Can you put a pointer to our group when you have time? May your pressure be low! CE Grim, BS (Chem/Math), MS (Biochem), MD.
