Guest guest
Just wanted to share our good news. Hayley was born yesterday, weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces. I got to be in the OR room during the c-section. WOW, it was a wonderful experience to say the least. My sister flew down and made it in time - without her, I could not have gone into the OR. 's husband was able to call in from Iraq and be present during Hayley's birth via speaker phone. I'm really impressed wtih this naval hospital. has been welcomed there - even in the birthing room. Had not needed a c- section, he could have watched Hayley being born. Bran's doctor has a niece with Down syndrome. At one point, got bored and wanted attention. He laid on the floor and demostrated how to push...lol!! I'll post a picture of holding Hayley when I get home. My sister has been at the hospital since she arrived - she has not left 's side - which is a good thing because developed some type of infection and is not feeling well. I would love to be with her myself, but my sister would have a hard time with (not knowing his little nuances like how he gets up at 4:00). I just can't get over the staff at this hospital. Everyone has been so good to my daughter and granddaughter. It's hard to imagine that many of them have been to war or are getting ready to go. I'm sure being in the birthing floor is a welcome change from being in a makeshift ER in the desert.
