I'm posting on behalf of a friend who lives in another state and whose son

is about to transition to high school. Her son is pretty much an average

young man with DS-neither a super-star nor severely impacted by having DS.

However, he was in an accident a couple of years ago and is now paralyzed

from the neck down and uses a wheelchair.

Truth be told, it sounds to me like she's been doing a great job advocating

for her child and that she has a lot of her bases covered, but given the

uniqueness of her child's situation and the looming post-secondary

transition process, she is looking for all the information, thoughts, and

helpful resources she can find, so, if anyone can offer any, please send

them along so I can get them to her before she goes into her IEP meeting

next week.

Thanks!

Judi
