Guest guest
Greetings to the group. I have just a quick question. I have a worm farm that needs kitchen refuse blended before introducing to the compost. Would I use the dry or wet container? I have to add water, so I'm assuming the wet container would be better? Guest guest
I make compost for my worm bins in the wet container. I blend veggie scraps on high, but then ramp it down to about 3 to add in some egg shells and bits of softer veggies that the worms will process themselves, such as the tops of tomatoes, stems of fruits, etc. This way, you get a rich tea to water the soil with, but still a few chunks for the wigglers. From: grant.amy.williamson@... <grant.amy.williamson@...>Subject: Wet or dry container Date: Wednesday, March 23, 2011, 8:39 AM Greetings to the group. Guest guest
And use the wet container (the dry is only for grinding and kneading). Vitamix recommends not using the container you use for food; they suggest a dedicated container. Maybe you could find a used one, such as one for a 5000? Guest guest
I have read that statement (by VM) about using a dedicated container. That makes no sense to me since you are just grinding food! Well that is, unless you put something strange I have not thought of in there. Velda On 3/23/2011 7:08 AM, wrote: And use the wet container (the dry is only for grinding and kneading).
