Question from a newbie here

I'm absolutely loving my Vitamix that I bought from QVC a few weeks ago. It's

everything that was promised, to my surprise and delight. So far I've only been

using it for smoothies and one attempt at soup.

Yesterday, however, I made freezer strawberry jam and used the Vitamix to blend

the berries. I was careful to not let it liquify, but used a low enough speed to

still have some bits of strawberries in it.

But - to my surprise, for the first time in 20 years of jam-making, the jam

would not set up. I changed nothing in the recipe, and the weather was not a

factor. Could I have processed the berries too much, and could that be why it

didn't set up? I have 11 lovely jars of jam, that's much too soft. Any ideas?

Bette in CA, with runny jam :(
