Imaginary friends?

Ok, Ciarra does have real friends, and lots of them. She spent the day

with one friend, and another is here as we speak. He just arrived. But

lately she seems to be either showing some loneliness, or maybe just the

typical imaginary friend thing. My son didn't do this, so I don't

remember much about what normal is. Here is tonights discussion:

Ok, so Ciarra is on a BIG Lazy Town kick. She LOVES . Really

really crazy about her. So tonight she was watching her new LT dvd. And

she turns to me and says she wants to go see . I tell her

Stpehanie isnt real. She tells me YES SHE IS, she IS real. The other

guys are puppets, STEPHANIE IS REAL. Ok, so shes right. A real kid plays

the part. is a real kid.

" Can come over to my house? " No, Ciarra, is a

character, there is a little girl that pretends to be stephanie, but she

isnt a real person. YES SHE IS. Hmm....she isnt getting it yet. So I go

do dishes. Ciarra comes into the kitchen.... " I know! I can use my

imagination, like barney does. is coming over. " uhhhhhhhhhh?

Um.........? OK CIARRA. back into the living room. She hollers " Can you

call her daddy? " I say CIARRA, I cant, shes busy working at lazy town.

(I have given up explaining the unexplainable, she understands BUSY, so

is BUSY.) I go to brush my teeth in the bathroom. Of course,

we are still discussing whether I want to or not. I am getting

frustrated, she is SURE I can make this happen.

" brushes her teeth, too. "

" Yes, Im sure she does. Wanna brush yours? "

" No. Im waiting for her to come over my house. "

.............

...........

" Hear that?! "

" No? what is it. "

" knock knock " (she says)

" STEPHANIE! I knew you would come over. Lets go play doctors.... "

(me...thinking...ok...imagination...thats a good thing right?)

" mom? "

" is at the door. "

" she is? "

" Yes. She opened the door in my brain and came out from my imagination. "

" Ah. "

..............

" Mom, Max and Ruby is on now. "

what the HECk is THIS? had an imaginary friend, but not like

this. And Ciarra is actually telling me stephanie came out of " the door

in her brain. "

WTH?

edited to add: Jim hollered just as I hit post. Wanted to know where I

was. I told him I was writing this down before I forgot what she said.

Took him in the LR and said Ciarra, can you tell daddy what happened in

your head. She says...stephanie came out the door and played with me. He

touseled her head, and she says " Do you feel the door daddy? "
