Hi! Boy, I've been there! It gets easier when you have 3 adults for every

kid! ha! Just kidding... it really does get easier, but there are no moms

in any store anywhere who can't relate to that! Hang in there... you are

someone's superwoman!

You poor dear! And I have read the other posts-nothing too encouraging. I

was hoping for something. Myah is 5.5 and shopping without a stroller (and

her strapped into it) is impossible!

I feel for you-and TOTALLY understand!

Sorry , nothing really changes as Jackie said things just become

different - that stubborn independent gene will always shine through

regardless of age. I can remember saying things like - I just can't wait

until Trent can do/grow out of whatever, only to be confronted with yet

another challenge. Must admit I do enjoy shopping these days when I see a

mother challenged by a strongly independent child or with a child exploring

and being inquisitive - but not the spoilt obnoxious type.

And then they are 14, and they don't like ANYTHING in the store, at least

anything you pick out. And their mother in a dressing room with them,

please................never. And cost, well, who worries about that?! And that

shirt, well it looks like a shirt a girl would wear (newsflash, you are a girl).

And I don't like blue (you did this morning).

Oh me, Oh my, Sharon. Now I met -I don’t hardly believe what you are

saying!! Lol

AND I have the almost 2 year old whose choice reading tonight while “potty

training” was the Avon catalog so that she could see the make-up and point

out all of the shoes. Man am I in trouble!!!!

LOL - at least she will try things on! Trent has an 'one size fits all'

attitude to shopping, just pick out a style/colour that you like and that is

it, shoes that is even more interesting, find a pair that you like put them

on the floor either side of your shoed feet look down, 'yep' they will fit.

Get him to try things on when we are home - first all shop tags must come

off and the best way is to just yank them off. Then you have to be real

quick to see if they fit okay and no way am I allowed to touch him/clothes

to see what adjustments if any or whether a smaller size would be better.

Smiled to myself earlier this year, Trent Shannen and I went on a shopping

expedition to Melbourne for the sales. Melbourne is around 100k's away from

our home and not our usual place to shop. Shannen had bought a couple of

items, Trent purchased a shirt of his liking - bright, we had purchased a

shirt for at this stage nothing for me. Without saying anything

Trent wandered off, I suggested to Shannen as he had been really good

clothes shopping with us we would have to follow him to where he wanted to

go. We were in a large department store, with several floors which spread

over a roadway, and a shop I don't normally go to let alone shopping with

Trent. He took us to the ladies department and picked out a t-shirt for me

to buy - forget the fact it was a colour and style I would never choice and

way to large.
