the bss2 fanny lifter separates into 2 sections. one section is blue and

is 8 " in height.

the other section is purple and is 6 " in height. either of those step

heights are used for step aerobics in the workouts, you pick which height

is best for you. the lower steps are also used for lunging onto, i

think. during the workouts, you put both sections of the step together to

make the 'fanny lifter' which is 14 " in height. this step is NOT used for

step aerobics and yes, it is totally inappropriate for that. the 14 "

height is used for doing step-ups or leg press. the high step is also used

for laying over to do certain exercises. this height of step IS

appropriate for the exercises that the firm uses it for. however, some

people find that the 14 " height is still too high for them to comfortably

use for leg press, so they drop down to 12 or 10 inches or even

lower. personally i do not use their fanny lifter but bought a

rubbermaid-like step stool/toolbox at a dept store... it is 13 " in

height. i had my husband make me the other two steps (8 " and 6 " ) out of

wood.
