,

Congratulations for finding your balance!! I think it's a pretty normal

stage that we parents go through. I remember when I found mine - I just

wanted to be 's mom (and 's, TJ's and Katey's), nothing more

with the exception of keeping this list going. Family is critical and the

most important thing we have here with us on earth.

had a neuropsych, which showed ADHD. We tried a few meds and went

off a few - until we finally re-examined the impulsivity issue (lead to

physical aggression) and tried another ADHD med - with success. Clonidine

is one med has never been on. If it works, you have a great window

to get in there and really work at changing some of her behaviors. It

sounds like the neuro developmental clinic is a great place to take Myah.

I get to see Sharon and the girls in July, if they are home for the 4th of

July. I love her girls - they are so sweet!

A few updates...

OK, so I went on vacation to Myrtle Beach and had a great time. No kids or

husband, just me and my aunt and uncle. I did get to meet Sharon, and

for dinner. Sharon-that was great and I enjoyed it tremendously. Let

me tell you all the Sharon's kids are the best! I could only hope for such

good mannered, well-behaved children. This trip was a big soul search for

me. I run myself crazy constantly. I work full time (+ some) as a client

relations manager, 45 minutes away. Then there's riding lessons on Saturday

for Myah, soccer for me Saturday night. Sunday is church, then lunch. It's

just go, go, go. I think I have learned some great things about what is

important and what is not. For instance the house-NOT important. Staying

over at work-NOT important. E-mail checking-NOT important. Kid's lives and

family-IMPORTANT! Anyway, it was great and I was able to focus. I have

lightened up-I think.lol and will only check my mail on Tuesdays and

Thursdays. Hopefully this will help my time management.

Second thing-Myah went to the Neuro Development clinic yesterday. All in all

he said that the school Myah attends is, what he feels, the best

developmental program in NE Ohio. And based on their report he knew there

was a problem. I told him that I felt bad about medicating Myah, like I had

failed her. He reassured me that if I were a behavioral psychologist I would

have problems with Myah. Anyway, she started Clonodine to help her control

her impulses. He described her as being very impulsive. I agree with that.

Does anyone else's child take this medication and does it help? She was

tired today which he said would happen. She is on a very low dose to start

with. He assured up that this medication would be temporary-maybe a year.

Thanks again!

, mom to Myah (5 DS) and Shianne (20 mo) in Ohio
