Guest guest
I had a Le Fort I which did a super job of correcting an overbite that had developed as the result of a badly fitted crown (it also corrected a "too much visible gum" problem as well). It was absolutely necessary but I remember my insurance didn't cover it which REALLY sucked. Actually, I think it had elements of a Le Fort II as well because incisions were also made in the soft palate. The procedure was awful because I couldn't breath well through my nose because of the tubes used during surgery and I was of course unable to open my mouth wide to breath that way. Horrible. And of course, I was horribly deformed for a week or so as well due to post-surgical swelling. Still, I'm extremely glad to have had it done and don't regret it at all. Rather than trying to purée normal food, I existed on malteds and blended soups with the addition of baby food. I guess the food could have been worse. Did you two have to carry wire clippers in case you became nauseous or did you have the rubber bands? Re: Tortilla soup/Jaw Wired Shut > . > ..
