Hi

With Mom out on the West Coast for the next several weeks due to a family

medical emergency, has been helping me a lot. His specialty is cooking.

He cooks on Thursday nights and Friday nights (I cook Monday, Tuesday, and

Wednesday nights and we eat out on Saturday and Sunday nights--I also do

breakfast and lunch).

One Thursday night he made great vegetarian tacos (I'm a vegetarian but the

kids are not--anyway the stuff you use doesn't taste any different from real

meat, it's just healthier). One Friday night he made steaks for the kids. They

disappeared quicker than a snowball in Honolulu. Last Friday night he made

gluten-free pasta ( is gluten free and we all try to eat as little gluten

as possible). With the added sauce, it tasted like something from an Italian

restaurant. All the 4H cooking, the cooking lessons in school, and watching Mom

cook has really paid off. If your child doesn't already cook, teach him or her

now. It's a valuable life skill and you never know when they might need to help

you with the cooking!
