Lea Ann,

You are correct about that! People whose ancestry is Coastal Native American,

Scandinavian, Celtic Irish, ish or Welsh evolved from peoples whose diet

included large amounts of fish. Genetically, their bodies require fish oil (or

algae oil supplements for vegetarians), which in these groups not only promotes

better health, but also relieves depression and reduces cravings for alcohol.

This info is from p. 107 (Fatty Acid Deficiency) of the book THE DIET CURE by

Ross.

Thank you for the research and additional info on how you are taking turmeric.  I plan to try it soon and will do a little experimenting too.  Arlene

and for you I Googled turmeric remedy arthritis:http://www.google.com/search?client=safari & rls=en & q=turmeric+remedy++arthritis & ie=UTF-8 & oe=UTF-8

There are so many different ways to take turmeric - you should come up with what works best for you and see how your body responds.  The traditional fat that people take turmeric (aka curcumin) with is in the form of milk - you will find recipes in your own Google searches.  I'm not supposed to take milk with my current diet plan, but can have the cream of milk so will be trying some cream + stevia + turmeric next.  I have been taking 1 tsp. per day of the turmeric that I purchased in the organic section of my grocery store mixed with just enough coconut oil to make a paste.  This was my own concoction because the first day I hadn't read the info. on its being absorbed better with fat and had been taking 1/4 tsp 4x per day of just the powder - swished down with my water.  Yesterday I did the coconut oil thing and today I'm going to mix 1 tsp. of turmeric with only 4 tsps. of cream so I can take 4 - 1 tsp. doses throughout the day.

Hi Lea Ann, could you please elaborate a little more on this recipe?.  What form was the turmeric in, and was it a commercial prep or something you made from fresh turmeric?  About how much coconut oil for the 1 tsp of turmeric?  About how much turmeric are you consuming for the entire day?  I get a great deal of relief from the use of ibuprofen, but I can hardly use it because I get stomach issues.  I'd like to try turmeric to see if it helps my arthritic knees.  Thanks for any additional info; sorry for so many questions.  Arlene in Ohio

I can vouch for turmeric as an anti-inflammatory.  I've always had to take 2 NSAIDS (I took Ibuprofen) and one in the morning during shows.  This current show I switched to turmeric.  I mix 1 tsp with some coconut oil (because I read that it is absorbed better if it is taken with an oil) and 3 drops of liquid stevia to help the taste then consume 1/4 tsp. spread out over the day.  I've done this whole show feeling just like I'd taken my usual 3 Ibuprofens per day.  Where Ibuprofen is bad for your liver, turmeric is actually GOOD for it!

Hey Joyce! That is exactly the book that gave me the info. which led me to begin supplementing with fish oil (I take salmon oil by Carlson's as it has the highest EPA and DHA levels and doesn't have the Vitamin D (so I can control that on my own) that cod liver has.

I only used up my first order of Waoira. I didn't research thoroughly when I bought it, and after it worked so well (after I determined that I had gotten sick from chewing gum and pulling the mercury out of my teeth) I did some research before re-ordering and was happy to find the Zeo Health product. They claim the Waoira doesn't work (which is counter to my experience) but theirs is so much cheaper that I am happy to stick with it. I ordered 3 containers with my first order (for $150) and that was close to a year ago and I still have 1 container left!

Lea Ann,

Does this work as well as the much more expensive Waoira Zeolite that you have used in the past?
