Guest guest
I made quilts for Nic's SPED and 5th grade teacher, framed photos of Nic with the aides he's had for 3 years - none of them are going with him to Middle School so this is a big goodbye... I'll cry, Nic won't comprehend it. He always says, " see you tomorrow " Sandy Love Monona, WI Angie Tate <atate526@...> wrote: Anybody doing end of year teachers gifts? Guest guest
I did, mostly because Caty is moving onto the high school and she's had these people for the last 4 years. I got the teacher a gift certificate to our local coffee house, a gift certificate to the aide at a local crafty/gift store. I put the gift certificates in cards I made on the computer. I put Caty's photo from the 1st day of school (when she was 3) and a recent photo on the card. I had her write in her handwriting, " I'll miss you " and her name. too gushy? Oh, and I also took in donuts and OJ this morning (I had planned to do a pizza party and never got it done, so did this instead) She was more proud walking in with the donuts then the work she did on the cards! But like I said I did that mostly because it was her last day at this school (she's been there since she was 3) mommy to Caty(soon to be sweet 16) teachers gifts Anybody doing end of year teachers gifts? This year I am not doing anything because I am so frustrated and infuriated at the current teacher that I certainly wouldn't be giving in a kind way. karyn
Guest guest
I'm doing the Starfish poem printed out and then got a real starfish (from the craft store) and mounted it in a shadow box. (That's for the teacher. For the aides (whom all 3 are wonderful!) I got 3 small unfinished hinged boxes that I'll let Nic paint and then decorate. Guest guest
What I always did was give them boxes filled with paperclips, red pencils, pens, bulletin board and the like. Not at all expensive to put together and they always loved it. granny On Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 11:25 AM, angie <atate526@...> wrote: > > > > > Its that time again.......times are tough and we have sooo many > teachers....what are some of you guys doing next week for all of your > teachers??? > > ~Angie~ > May God Bless You As He Has Us > > ~~DREAM BIG~~ > > An extra little chromosome, > that's all it is, you see. > Where all of you were born with two, > She was blessed with three. > >
Guest guest
I usually make chocolates for everyone at Easter and Xmas. Here in Oz our end of school year is Xmas. If I have enough time I usually bake some biscuits too. Shortbread, chocolate chip and gingerbread men usually go down a treat- tho this year BJ has a teacher that is gluten intolerant-so I have special flour for her........ Last year I made up a little Xmas tree like thing with assorted sizes of chocolates stacked up on top of each other and wrapped in cellophane. I print up With love for Natasha, or on stickers and stick them to all the pressies. I do it for all the teachers of the 3 kids. For the aides- as we have quite a few at BJ school, and he doesn't just see one, I make up a big bundle of chocolates etc- like maybe 20 or so and put it on their desk and they share it. I do like the idea of the DS pins etc- have no idea if we have them here tho....... Aussie Leis- mum to , Natasha, and Jellybean I'm not bossy I just know what you SHOULD be doing!! angie wrote: > Its that time again.......times are tough and we have sooo many teachers....what are some of you guys doing next week for all of your teachers??? > > > ~Angie~ > May God Bless You As He Has Us > > ~~
Guest guest
Karrie has had the same teacher for 2 years now. This lady has not only had expectations that Karrie will learn and behave, but also knew Karrie could learn to read and do basic math. And Karrie didn't let her down! So, since this teacher is awesome, of course she will be leaving at the end of this school year Karrie had been supposed to have her one more year. For her end of the year gift, I bought this teacher an angel about 6 " tall. On the spread wings it says, " I have dreamed, I have achieved...all because you believed in me " . Makes me tear up just typing it! For the teacher's aid, I'm using the Starfish Poem, printed on seaside-ish paper. The frame will have a small picture of Karrie and starfish glued to the frame. I may even make one for the teacher. How in the world will I ever thank this person?? -- Sue mom to Kate (6 days of high school left) and Karrie 11 w/ds and mild autism ---- Jan Marie <janmarie21@...> wrote: > What a wonderful idea Granny - a box filled with practical bits and pieces > which will be used. Guest guest
Oh sue this made me cry too! I think for the most part if a teacher just cares about our kids and does their best...great things can happen. Kudos to this teacher they are truly gems when they come along! Loree PS where did you get the angel? Loree **************Need a new ride? Check out the largest site for U.S. used car listings at AOL Autos. Guest guest
Loree, I found the angel at a little gift shop one afternoon!! I wasn't even looking for anything in particular and there she was! I also found a little silver starfish necklace, but not sure who to give it to...the teacher or the assistant. My initial thought is the asst., and give both of them the frame with Starfish poem and Karrie's picture.... -- Sue mom to Kate 18 and Karrie 11 w/ds and mild autism ---- Loree5@... wrote: > Oh sue this made me cry too!
