Guest guest
When was younger, we found her glasses everywhere from the front lawn (thankfullly it was winter and I hadn't mowed them up, LOL) to in her sock drawer, to in the hamper, in the toy box, etc. After awhile (and hopefully will be shorter in learning where to put them, since he's older) she learned a place for them. Now I had tried making a " bed " for them on her dresser.... she never seemed to put them there. I finally noticed that she was starting to put them on the top of her little bookshelf, so that's where we made their " place " , and she's pretty good about taking them off before she puts on pajamas and putting them there. Not that we don't have to still look for them, but the " do I need to buy another pair " worries have greatly diminished (and to that end, I found that about the time I was ready to get a second pair, we found the lost ones, LOL). She also has recently found a case that she likes, and one morning as I was running around like a madwoman looking for her glasses before the school bus came, I found them in the case, LOL. What a surprise.... the last place I looked! If he sees OK without them, I might wait a bit on the second pair and see if he gets into the routine of keeping them somewhere. , mom to (10), (8 DS, glasses since 3 /12), and (6) Leis wrote: >hi all > > has put his glasses somewhere > >Any suggestions on [posting places that are perfect for glasses, as I >have tried the drain where Spiderman was and no >glasses...................................................... > >And next qtn > >DO I spend another $150 on glasses or just let it go???? > > >grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr > >hate kids >sometimes.......................................................... > > >
Guest guest
Don't worry, you will find them. We have always found 's, even though she has had to go a day or two without them. One of her favorite hiding spots has always been in a bookcase, behind the books. Now, she has a set place on the coffee table in the living room, they always go there if she isn't wearing them. Well, most of the time anyway. Good luck searching! Sharon H. Guest guest
Jasmine has been wearing her glasses since she was 12 months old. She has lost only 1 pair, she threw them out the van window when we weren't looking! But when she didn't want to wear them, she usually just took them off and threw them across the floor, scratching them horrible! We had had to search hard for them sometimes, finding them in a toy box, or in the entertainment center by the t.v. But I don't think she ever really hid them, just took them off and didn't remember where she put them-which put us in a frantic search to find them, too. Good luck with Maverick. How long has he had them? When Jasmine first got hers, she didn't want to keep them on (at 12 months who would?). We finally got a solution from the Dr. She gave us some of the drops they use to dialate their eyes for the examination. We put those in her eyes every morning and she couldn't see without her glasses. It wasn't too long before she realised she could see much better if she left them on. This may be an idea for you. Good luck again, Toni-mom to Jasmine-14-and doesn't even want to take off her glasses to go to bed now!!!
Guest guest
P.S. Jasmine is very farsighted, has astigmatism, and her left eye turns in to her nose as soon as she takes her glasses off. But with the glasses on, which are VERY strong, everything is corrected and she can see very well. Toni
Guest guest
With so many answers to " glasses help " , I am wondering how many of your kids wear glasses, and is it a " typical " Down's thing to need them? Toni
Guest guest
good hiding placs for glasses: 1. couch cushions 2 television cabinet 3. garbage!!! 4. TOILET and if your lucky he didn't flush! 5. under someone's bed 6. In a toy chest 7. outside on the lawn 8. in the car 9. a million places you will never think of! Micah " lost " approximately 3 pair a year for 2 and a half years but now he wears them like a trooper. In fact he will sometimes put them on himself if they have been taken off , like for a bath. I did not think that day would ever come. So my answer to the next question is Yes, buy another pair. I always kept two pair in the house so when he lost one there was another pair until I could buy another. We were up to three pair at one time when we found a pair that he had lost, but then back down to one pair within three months. Thank the Lord I think those days are over!!!
