Has anyone tried saving left over smoothies by freezing them in ice trays and

then using the smoothie cubes later to make ice cream, etc?

Just wondering how this would work.

Thanks,

Davinna

Yes, most of us do this. Works a charm. I freeze everything I can get my hands on, from left over stock, greens, juices, purees, etc. There is always a place for just a bit of something in a recipe. Nice to have a bunch of stuff on hand. From: creative <d.j.creativedesign@...>Subject: saving left overs Date: Saturday, February 26, 2011, 1:18 PM

OK...just thought I would share my results with you...this is copied from an email that I sent to a friend of mine last night:Ok...So remember that smoothie that Kenzie did not like this morning?  The green one with zucchini, pineapple, blueberries, & grape juice? Well, I poured it up into ice trays earlier today.  This evening, a neighbor took her to the movies with their son.  While they were gone, I

made " Blueberry Ice Cream " out of her smoothie and poured it up into ziploc bowls and put it into the freezer.  I had told her before she left that I was going to make blueberry ice cream.  She just got home and came in looking for her ice cream.  She informed me that that was " some pretty awesome ice cream " .  LOL!  Funny girl :)BTW, The smoothie also had a granny smith apple in it.  And, one more thing, I did not give it time enough to freeze HARD before using the cubes so that is why I had to pour it up and put it back in the freezer. And, Kenzie is my 7 year old (not at all spoiled) daugher ;)
