Guest guest
Does anyone save old IEPs? For some reason I'm compelled to keep them but I really can't think of a rational reason to... Di
Guest guest
Why should we keep our old IEP's? **Because the new people on this list are always asking what types of goals we had in 1st or 3rd grade and I can't remember. **Because I know we had that goal, why do we need to do it again? **Because there are TIMES that you need to go and and remind yourself how much your child has learned. **Because there are times you want to reread the IEP's and remember the meetings and laugh. **For documentation, " Don't tell me you can't write that into the IEP, we did it 3 years ago. " **Maverick's inclusion specialist took notes and typed them up for each monthly meeting all through elementary school. She then presented a binder with them so we could look back and see what we worked on and how it worked for future reference. It's like a memory book for me, some good, some bad. But it's sure great to have!

Guest guest
Probably not, but LOL I saved mine too. I think they all go in one thick folder. I know what you mean....it like it's part of you... Won't be too long when I decide to get rid of them because dealing with the school system was always they hardest part for me of having a son with ds. Shirley, mom to Josiah now 22yo old IEPs Is there any reason that i would need to keep old IEPs now that my daughter is leaving the school system? I just can't bring myself to throw them out, I guess because I worked so hard on them!
